What's Limewire....sounds English..??:dconfused: Precisionpower 07-04-2007, 07:02 PM I seen it to. I thought about it, then said "Nah" Rick would send his attack goats after me! SoftJock Rick 07-04-2007, 07:46 PM Rick would send his attack goats after me! Nah, I'd get Wonder Doggy after ya for that :sqlaugh: Actually, people are selling cracked versions at computer fairs on the other side of the pond too :sqerr: All my software has a comm. layer built in though, so I can track it back to whomever is using a non-valid, duplicate, or cracked registration. It all depends on how many of a particular one I find, before I decide to waste time and money going after them legally, or shut down their computers for S&G... Ya gotta love technology, it works both ways ;) Scott Hanna 07-04-2007, 07:51 PM that means you've hit the big time, rick!!! in reality, besides the moral dilemma, i've found the support you get on most software makes the cost very well worth it. Of course, it could be because i can be a real blockhead when it comes to computers. SoftJock Rick 07-04-2007, 08:01 PM In this day and age, software (at least mine), is a reasonable expense compared to other things, so I find it odd that people hack it or steal it, since they won't get the support. Actually, I've had people call with support questions, who are using hacked versions -- I edumacate them :sqwink: Travis B 07-04-2007, 08:15 PM what idiots! Flyingdjdan 07-04-2007, 08:44 PM So, you saying you won't support the program I bought off the guy from ebay that had 10 copies for sale?:sqconfused: They told me they were a multi op, and were good copies for 10 bucks! I'm out 10 bucks! Dang it!!!:sqwink: Fred Stewart 07-04-2007, 11:26 PM People in this biz love to boast about all the dough they're raking in, yet in the next breath they're wantin' something for nothing. Is all this massive DJ company income being reported to the IRS? If you need the software, buy the software. It's a legitimate business expense ~ ie, a tax writeoff. It's not shareware. Don't crack it. :( DJ SVO 07-04-2007, 11:39 PM Well what comes free illegally has it's downside. The first thing is breaking the law. Piracy should not be tolerated period. In Mexico you see people selling cracked copies of Virtual DJ for $10.00 USD. Then they log on to the VDJ forums with all kinds of problems and expect people that have actually paid for the product to answer and solve their problems. One thing that I really enjoy is my music collection which took a lot of time and money to put together. I tried Napster when it came out initially and since back then I was on dial up I said to hell with it. Besides the quality of the download was junk. If I was in the DJ business and like most other professional DJ's as Fred has suggested when tax time came around in goes the music. It's amazing when people have access to everything at a reasonable price the tend to screw up and go the cheap way around by stealing (Yes downloading the music, the software, etc. is stealing) which ends up costing them an arm and a leg in legal fees or botched up events due to software failure. IMHO it's not worth it. | |
