Director: Anthony Mandler
Release: June
Watch Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry Now! (http://www.ifilm.com/video/2855124)
Summary: Video takes place before Fergie (Stacy Ferguson) makes it big time in the music industry. Fergie talks about how she loves this guy, but in the end eventually leaves him. Basically Fergie walks around in her underwear and talks about how she loves her guy.
Pros: References to the mustang in the video (as seen in the glamorous video) really help link the two elements, I predict her next hit to tie what actually happened to the mustang?!? I love how the director really portrayed the "personal" element as the song suggests. It felt very real to me. I love how the video makes a complete circle with how it started. Notice she leaves in the final scene of the video, now she is driving up in the beginning of the video in the mustang.
Cons: Does she love him or not? Unclear? The song lyrics don't really portray what the video is showing, not that bad though. Directors HAVE to watch drummers, if a drummer hits a crash or is about to, immediately cut! Seeing something that isn't audibly there really breaks illusion.
Grading 1-5:
Song Value: 3
Production Value: 4
Cinematography: 3
Acting: 3
Storyline: 4
Lighting: 3
Until Next Time, Keep Watching Music Vids!
