Rihanna - Umbrella (Feat Jay-Z)

Director: Chris Applebaum
Release: June

Summary: Rihanna collaborates in a video with Jay-Z simulating rain with Pyro effects and more. No Storyline whatsoever.

Pros: Bump Shots were great, good out of focus shots, however they did not fit in with the storyline. I liked the water wipe effect, it flows with (rain), but doesn't tie in with the silver almost nude Rihanna.

Cons: Jay-Z disappears after the start of the video. I'd expect to see him make at least some appearance. The nude portion doesn't even fit in with the whole video, but it looks cool? Rihanna, could you please smile? There isn't even a statement to me in the video that would show that it is to be low key and serious, it is more playful. Dance moves could be a little better choreographed.

Grading 1-5:
Song Value: 3
Production Value: 4
Cinematography: 3
Acting: 2
Storyline: 1
Lighting: 2

I sensed this video was about guys getting under her umbrella, which was simulated with her fine thin legs and the short black skirt in a couple of the shots.
Most adults find the eeh eeh eeh eeh a big monotonous to listen to.

The nudity is totally unnecessary imo and adds nothing at all.
