Good news on Wiedamark cans...

I just ordered some more cans, and got an e-mail directly from "Mark". He claims that since I bought my first four (a year and a half ago) and have talked about them on the boards, he has sold 2500 units. NOTE: he gave me one free for all the mention.

He is now getting complaints from competitors that his prices are too low, and has been forced to raise his posted price. I asked him to offer the cans to our members at a discounted price, as a favor for all the publicity. He said he would.

He also mentions that he sells them to "re-sellers" who have to charge a markup, so if you buy directly from him... you'll get the discount (but hold off till I get details from him on how much he'll charge us).

He will be contacting me in a day or two with details of how you can order them directly from him... so if you're considering buying some DMX LED par cans... hold off for a while till I get details.

He also gave me details on a local DJ who did a comarisson "shootout" on several different cans.

Got my first 4 a few weeks ago, and they were at the "old" price...

Hey Tyrone - I have one can that's gone wonky...It blinks red about every 2 seconds with or with out cables in....It's addressed right. Funny think is the dmx controller does not "see it" at all...it sees fixtures 1, 2 and 4......

Any thoughts?

I'm going to swap it to another place on the "T" and see if it does the same thing...then I'll know for sure......

i see the can with the gel clips is cheaper than the normal can...

Any idea as to warranty on these with Wiedamark?

..He mentioned that he had a "few" cans out of the 2500, that had some issues (remember, they came from China). I'd give him a call, he's very good about returns (the reason I know that, is I had to return one, and he sent me a new one NQA).

Reason I even mentioned that he gave me a light for talking about them, is because I didn't want anyone to think I was pushing Wiedamark cans in return for something. I was pushing these cans WAY before he gave me one, and everybody was mentioning my name when they were ordering them. It was his way of saying thanks. I think he's picked me as his "spokesperson".

Hey Tyrone - Spoke to Mark today...What a great guy! What a great company! They are sending a replacement can as I am within warranty.....

That's what customer service is all about.....!!!!

I just got an e-mail from Mark (Reed) who wants to offer all of the members on this board a discount on his DMX LED cans.

He just passed the 2500 mark on fixtures sold, with less than a 1% failure... he warrants all of his stuff, and sends new units out when one fails within the warranty period. Since they all come from China, you have to expect some of them to fail... all of the manufacturers do.

Anyway, if you e-mail Mark directly at this address: mreed@wiedamark.com he will give you a discount coupon for the LED cans. He is also looking at offering discounts on lots of other lighting equipment in the future.

Let me know (in a PM) what you'd like to see for DJ's that he could "mass purchase" and give us all the same kind of coupon deal.

Funniest thing about it; the can works perfect in sound active mode...just not in dmx mode although the signal passes through to the next can...when I go to program it the controller doesn't see it, par 4 becomes par 3...so it leads me to some sort of failure on the board...I love to get a can that say has burnt out lights or is physically damaged and swap the innards and have a functional spare can.....Any candidate Tyrone?

Despite what others have to say; these cans, for the price have treated me well....

I had to exchange one last year... but now they all work. I just bought two more today. I love these cans.

Don't forget... when in DMX mode, you have to put dipswitch #10 to "on" for it to function properly in DMX.
