I guess many people wondered why it took the Beatles so long to release their old comps (red and blue albums) on CD. Before the red and blue CDs were released one would have to buy several Beatles CDs to get all the songs.

And don't forget that most of those songs that end up on the "Greatest Hits" packages were never hits and are merely "filler".
