media monkey... virtual cd?Papa Deuce 08-18-2007, 06:22 AM What exactly is that? Kirby Ball 08-18-2007, 03:52 PM Good question, I've never utilized that feature.... I'll bet NextGen will have our answer... MusicMeister 08-23-2007, 03:15 AM Ripping Tracks and Cataloguing CDs If you want to rip Tracks from CDs and also catalog your Audio CD collection, simply ripping your Audio CDs will result in duplicate entries for any Tracks that you rip. The Track will appear once for the CD version of the Track and a second time for the ripped version. To avoid this, use the Virtual CD: If you haven't already, Configure the Virtual CD. Select any Track(s) and click 'Save to Virtual CD', or drag and drop the Track(s) to the Virtual CD. MediaMonkey will then: Add the physical CD to the Library. Rip the selected CD Audio Tracks to the Virtual CD, so that duplicate entries aren't created for the physical CD and the ripped Track. For audio Tracks on the CD that are already compressed, the files will simply be saved to the Virtual CD as is. Note: If you wish to interrupt this process at any time, simply right-click on the status bar near the bottom of the screen, and click Terminate. If you wish to reduce the amount of CPU cycles used during the process, you may similarly right-click on the status bar, select Change Priority, and choose a lower priority level. Once you remove the CD, you'll notice that in the Library, the Locations View has an entry for the CD, and all of the Tracks on the CD are part of the Library. The Tracks that are accessible (i.e. those that were ripped to the Virtual CD) appear in black, while the songs that are inaccessible (because they weren't ripped and the CD isn't inserted) appear greyed out. | |
