No . . . it was the 5 second exposures and the earth's rotation . . .

I had the camera on a tripod . . . should have raised the ISO on the last ones . . .

There is another one in February, and I just got a new DSLR last week, so we'll try some different techniques on that one!

I'm sorry I didn't notice this thread sooner. Your pictures are amazing. Are you ready for the next one coming up in a few days? I hope you'll post shots of it too.

It's supposed to be in full eclipse around 10:00 PM est this coming Wednesday! I'll be outside from 9:00 to 11:00 marveling at it.

I will be out Wednesday night. Just hope the skies are clear. I'm kind of an amature at this, so John if you have any suggestions or advice, maybe about settings etc, I'd appreciate anything you have to offer. Thanks

I've done some astronomy, and I happen to have a rather nice Celestron telescope collecting dust, I'll see if I can get any shots.

Is anybody still going to try to get pics tonight? I've got a boy down with the flu who is awfully upset about missing it.

Too cloudy here to see anything :-(

These are not as good as the ones posted by John, but they are what I could do with my camera. Maybe John will post his tomorrow. The last picture shows the moon starting to come back. The first one is just a full moon country scene shot several hours before the eclipse.

Bless you. There is a very sick 12 year old who will want to thank you for these.

Penny, I'm glad I could help you out. I wish they were better quality, but I'm just an amature at this.
Seems like a lot of people have the flu, even my doctor. I should start getting a flu shot.

Did Kirby breathe on you? He has it too.

Seriously, they're great shots. Don't be so modest.

We had high cloud cover last night so whenever I looked, it was mostly obscured. :(

Thanks Penny, but I'm still learning. Music Doctor is the man though when it comes to photography. Anyone know what that green spot is under the moon in pic 3?

I told Kirby to cover his mouth when he coughs, especially when he is logged on to this site. Now we all are going to get the flu.

I know Saturn and the star Regulus were supposed to form a triangle with the moon last night. Or maybe it's that funky effect in your sun pictures again. :sqconfused:

Good one. Why didn't I think of that?

Sorry I haven't been around lately . . .

We had a thin cloud layer that night, but I did manage to get off a few shots during a 20 minute clearing of the clouds!

I haven't looked at them yet on the computer . . .

I'll go through them and post in a day or two!

Just a bit of lens flare. The star to the left of the green spot is actually Saturn.

My daughter and I had a great view of the eclipse. No pics, but we did break out the telescope.
