In having a conversation with Johnny we've come to the conclusion that the DJ Revolution Blog is sort of dead in the water. Johnny seems to be the only one posting.

The goal of the blog when we first started was to have many different DJ's giving their take on the DJ world. So, why do we have only a Canucks view? :sqbiggrin:

I'll be the first to admit; I only have one post on there but I do have an excuse. I've been working hard keeping this place running smoothly along with working on other internet type stuff. The past few weeks real world stuff has been taking precedence. I've been preparing two houses for the winter which isn't far off. That being said I do have a few posts saved on my computer just about ready to go.

Let try and keep the bashing to the minimum and educate potential members and consumers whom may stumble across the blog what we're about.

From the technical aspect everyone who has signed up for the blog has author privileges in short that means you can write a post. :)

But I strongly agree that there is no point in a blog if nobody is going to write in it.

I see what you fellows are trying to do. Your efforts are laudable. Hip hip hooray! The problem is presently there aren’t that many posters in total. When you start diffusing the efforts of the group as a whole, you get that much less in each bucket.

The problem I’ve experienced too, I’m looking for the new stuff and it is in two dozen different buckets now. Divide that between all your members and even if every one posts once a day and most don’t, you’re not getting much in each bucket. Well yeah, yes I know the icon changes.

Right now we are a small family. You guys built a mansion and we’re all sort of bumping around in a big empty house. This really isn’t meant to be a severe criticism as I might have tended to do the same thing but now that you have reached the 24th room you really are going to need to take stock. Forums without activity - old posts at the top of the list, loudly proclaim a lack of activity. It doesn’t speak well of the site to the person that happens upon it. To the casual observer it looks dead.

Fellows, feel free to delete this post if you desire for the obvious reasons. Just send a copy to the sock puppet if you do.

I cannot say I disagree with you. Most of the various sub forums have been added at the request of the staff here. A few I didn't really want to add because it makes the place look like a ghost town. I think a lot of forums could be combined in to one big forum with sub forums that would lessen the "search" for where to post. I may restructure the forums a bit.. I'll put it up for a vote and we'll see what happens.

I've dropped the ball on promotion the last couple weeks because as I said above real life has called. Also changing hosts has tied up a lot my time that would other was be spent hacking (in a good way). I've got some other stuff on plate too, I rolled out a new forum aimed at teaching (a passion of mine) which is dead for now. I've been picking up side jobs fixing other peoples websites which put some cash in my pocket so I can afford to run this place.

I'll be adding more stuff once things calm down. I may even run an AdWords campaign.

OK...so...I just wrote my own INDIVIDUAL piece to go along with the general post I made. I invite EVERYBODY now to add their own spin--NOT by making just a Comment, but by making their own blog entry.

And this can be done at least until the next instalment of TALKIN BOUT.
