I have some old but fully functional computers on our office shelves, we are going to sell them dirt cheap. They do not have hard-drives or OS's on them, but we would be happy purchase the drive and install XP-Home on them for you, as well as beef them up if necessary (at your expense)

We have an athlon 1 Ghz, and a PII 266Mz (No Typo), and a PIII as well. These would be good accounting PC's, word processors, print servers, or Small Linux Servers. If you want Linux on there, we can even negotiate throwing it on there as well.

Before you get another computer or even the hardware for them contact me, I'll be glad to tell you what we have here at the office (A TON of computer parts, since the old company that had my space was a computer outlet)

Contact me at my office line: 409-860-5551 if you are even the least bit interested, hey maybe we could even talk DJ stuff :sqwink:

Why not get one with S-Video (Y/C: Sync & Chrominance)
Then use a converter.

I do not have any old laptops here. Valerie, I'll share a secret, have you thought of those IBM referb units? Might be worth a look, also for good consumer prices, tiger direct has some of such units if memory serves correct.

I could also look at one of my distributors if your looking for a new cheap bare bones laptop. Also good Lunchbox Computer or Shuttle Box.
I actually have a shuttle box, I can sell you that would be perfect for your needs.
I believe this is the one I ended up getting: http://global.shuttle.com/Product/Barebone/SK21G.asp
(Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse not included)

Definitely needs to be a laptop as we just use it for powerpoint at conferences (needs to be quickly set up on a podium if they want user control). We had one stolen last week and need a replacement. Whoever stole that one will be disappointed; it's an OLD gateway....battery doesn't work more than about 10 minutes and they didn't take the power supply! (DOH) It is equipped with WIN 98 for their convenience, and is like a P3 processor! And yet, we're sad to see it gone because we use it a fair amount!

Anyway, I digress. We will probably end up with a basic Tiger Direct type model. I'll look into the IBM refurbs....
thanks for the tips
