I'm done with upgrades until there is an immediate application need to do so. I won't even update the operating system with automatic updates anymore.

I've seen more problems caused by "updates" and "ugrades" than any virus or malware that's come down the pike.

I'll stay with XP and my current machines until I need a specific software or hardware solution that they can't handle.

I even use old machine running Windows 98 for bookings because my software is sweet and highly efficient, but was written for Windows 3.1 and won't work at all on XP. I'm also keeping another old Pentium 200 as backup should my current Win 98 machine die.

Call me a Luddite but I just won't mess with perfection.

I'm finally running vista for the 1st time. I don't see anything wrong with the OS. It may take some getting used to but it's ok.

I don't plan to upgrade my 5 computers that have XP on them. I have no issues buying a new PC with vista.

My mother's friend was just up here visiting, she's a complete computer novice really all she does is play games and email her grandkids with it. She recently bought a new computer and it's got Vista on it, she cannot stand Vista. That's coming from someone who knows almost nothing about computers.

My mom just phoned me as she is trying to get Anti virus up and she is losing the war. Finally got her hooked up with AVG. I hated all the warnings etc pop ups and updates etc until I loaded mine with Firefox hallelujah for firefox.

..."Hello, my name is Microsoft, and I only want to protect you from yourself and your ignorance..."

No one should have to go through fifteen hours of "training" just to run a computer. If Ford had had that attitude, we'd be riding around in taxis and limos.

:sqeek: Wait.... Why doesn't that sound like a bad thing?
