Members Of A DJ REVOLUTION: Your Input Is Required!

We have a MISSION STATEMENT by which we all must abide but, by looking at our websites, I do not think that we are ALL abiding ALL of it ALL of the time.

Personally, I am willing to let things slide; however, I wonder how much a conscientious visitor to http://www.adjrevolution will let things slide.

How can we all adhere to a vision without making it look like we are starting some kind of "certification" programme?

Here is MY input:

I think that this can be done one of two ways:

1) discuss each other's websites in individual threads (I believe that we are all cool enough to debate issues without becoming haters);

2) "police" each other's websites by visiting each other's websites and communicate our opinions and concerns with one another.

In either case, we needn't DRAW LINES or MAKE RULES--we simply need to NEGOTIATE.

If nobody thinks this is even an issue, then please say so.

As a note: The ADJR website and blog will be moving along with ODJT when we do move. So things may be temparaily unavailable towards the end of next week.

Thanks for understanding,
Dan

Considering the lack of responses to my concern, I took it upon myself to do something which I hope you will all like. I can tweak it and even delete it, but please look at it:

Such as.....

First, and most important, please tell me what you think of what I wrote between the map and the listings: http://www.adjrevolution.com

Now, to address jfactor:

"we DO NOT try to tell customers how to hire a DJ"

"we accept every individual's pricing strategy"

I think that we (myself included, of course) might not be adhering to these statements 100%. While we might not necessarily have a HOW TO HIRE A DJ page on our site, we might still say something regarding the cost of a DJ or what a DJ should provide. Now, as I have stated, THERE MAY BE NO ISSUE HERE, but I am more concerned with what a conscientious reader may think.

I know I'm kinda vague, here, but that is because, if I give specific examples, it might resemble what somebody is doing, and I AM NOT PICKING ON ANYBODY.

AND THIS IS HOW I got the idea of doing what I did on our site, and which is why I want feedback on it, because, up till now, this issue has not been addressed.

And my CAPS are merely there to show EMPHASIS. Ed told me that I sometimes seem to be too demanding, but I do not mean to be. I am more interested in knowing that we are all on the same page.

Just for THE RECORD, I mean it when I say that YOUR INPUT IS REQUIRED.

And, I would also like to add that CRITICAL input is the best.

If I am doing something wrong now, then I don't want to find out when it's too late--please tell me now.

Thank you.

I don't do research on who clicks on my pages, but I would bet that NON DJs are going there.

OK, but how do we KNOW? Is there a way to be sure?

Yes, there is.

By all our members putting links to the site on their own websites, and in their E-mail replies, NON-DJs will surely go there.

Seriously in the sites present state, not unless you used some sophisicated cia IP mapping equipment. However if a login type system was implemented much like usodja then yeah you could have a broader spetrum of who is/isn't a dj. Of course anybody can be anybody online, how do you know the person your talking to is a 34 male or 21 - female.
