Tearing it down later today...

Here's a picture of the Marina Nite Club. In a few hours, this will be gone. They will be hauling it away, and pouring concrete for the new building next week. Right now, I'm set up across the street in the convention center.

Here's a link to the web cam set up on the convention center, looking at the Marina. I'll see if I can stand in the camera view later today...

The grapple just took a bite out of the dance floor area. This is cool, watching it go down little by little.

I'm watching this thing go down, and feeling a little sad. This was my "place" for the last 4 years.

Hope the new place is better!

Oh well, one less tree. One less living being on planet earth. One less living being that converts CO2 to O2.

...but a bigger dance floor for me. I went over there during lunch, and watched for a while. Those guys with the grapple tractors are very good. They've filled up 10 trucks so far today. The claim they'll be finished tomorrow.

This web cam should be up for the duration... so stay tuned.

The place is entirely gone!
Ty, will the webcam chronicle the construction of the new building too?

I've told the owners that thousands of DJ's... (yeah yeah, I lied) around the world are watching. I asked him to widen the shot (which he did) so that the whole building is in the frame.

I gotta get over there with one of my banners and hold it up for a few minutes... we'll see if the construction guys will let me sneak inside the fence.

Here's a shot from this morning. I've got a little comfession... the number counts have been so low for the last three weeks, that they've told me not to come in. So, I've been out of a gig for three weeks. They claim it will pick up in a week or two... I hope so.

Since they tore down the old club, no one knows there is a bar and entertainment across the street in the convention center. DAMN!

The front wall is that line you see running all the way across the picture (they back filled it all yesterday), so they're ready to start putting up walls.. The back wall is out there by the bobcat. Those yellow tubes, are the storm sewer which will be buryed under the parking lot.

Sorry to hear you lost the Gig.........

When will it be re-built? Looks like a nice place to spend a few days? Rates seemed very reasonable.......Golf on 2 courses...."All Inclusive" including Wine....$379/per person 4 days 3 nights.

Not bad and a Big Plus when it's back and running you get...."TYRONE".....

They should put a banner out there on the site saying to go across the street! Hope you get back in the saddle soon, Tyrone. :)
