DJ JohnThe1 09-24-2006, 10:44 PM It seems like when I throw on a Beyonce track all of the chicks in the room hit the dance floor. Not only Beyonce. Usher, Justin Timberlake, R Kelly and Jay Z tracks always get the gigs jumping. MJ also.
Tell us what works for your gigs..
Mr. K 09-25-2006, 12:00 AM I keep track of my floor fillers here: http://www.thevinylspinner.com/top100.htm
The closer a song is to the top of the list, the more likely it will fill the dancefloor at ANY of my parties.
If you're talking about just the chicks, then the ONLY one that ALWAYS works for me is GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN.

Sounds like JTV.:sqeek:
DJ JohnThe1 09-25-2006, 03:03 AM Another floor filler at last nights gig was SexyBack.
Fred Stewart 09-25-2006, 05:18 AM The floor filled last night with Rod Stewart's cover of I Only Have Eyes For You.
Then there was Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons, Bobby Vinton, The Platters...
They got down to MJ's Thriller and Billie Jean. Then they really got down to James Brown's Get Up Offa That Thing. :D
It depends upon the crowd. :)
DJ Dan 09-25-2006, 06:00 AM Many of the same songs work for me. Two songs that always pack the floor for me are:
Party Up - DMX
Oochie Wally - Nas & QB's Finest
These probably wouldn't appropriate for a wedding but I do bars.. That kind of "explictness" is often welcomed. :)
Other songs that go over well..
Boom Boom (I want you in my room) - Venga Boys
That almost always results in a train for me.
Brooklyn Bounce - Venga Boys
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond
No matter the age group people get singing
A lot of the early 90's dance/houseish stuff goes over well in my neck of the woods. As does a killer 70's disco set. :walkman:
Balanced Line 09-25-2006, 06:46 AM Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond
[INDENT]No matter the age group people get singing
Too often I take a lot of ****, well never mind what I take but a lot of it for oldies. Neil Diamond? I'll try it next time but I'll gird my loins foist.
barry stamper 09-26-2006, 12:01 AM I don't get it.

Briar 09-26-2006, 01:45 AM It is old and worn out but it seems like I still play it all the time and it still fills the floor....
Outkast- The way you move
DJ_BreakZ 09-26-2006, 04:17 AM Never fail ... Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
Depending on crowd ... AC/DC - I Love Rock & Roll
Papa Deuce 09-26-2006, 04:34 AM The floor filled last night with Rod Stewart's cover of I Only Have Eyes For You.

DjDennis 12-24-2006, 05:11 PM oh while I am in this thread Dj_BreakZ
think you need to re-look who did the song you posted
AC/DC - I Love Rock & Roll
thats NOT AC/DC trust me they would never do that song at all EVER....
I think you are refering to Joan Jett who did it in the first place and others have done covers never AC/DC
jfactor1 12-24-2006, 06:20 PM Oochie Wally - Nas & QB's Finest
Oochie Wally has never worked for me. :sqembarrassed:
At bar gigs...
Let Me Clear My Throat-DJ Kool
Gimmie That Nutt-Eazy E
NIN Da Club
Hollaback Girl-Gwen Stefani
all almost always works for me.
Chuck The DJ 12-24-2006, 06:52 PM RASPUTIN -- Boney M
I don't even know that song! LOL
jtnichol 12-24-2006, 11:04 PM Missy Elliot - Lose Control
I loop the "music make me lose control" and start it off really slow (keylocked of course). Black the room out by the way. Gradually move it up to normal tempo, release loop, then kick on the strobes.
Gets em everytime....
