hello all

the company my wife works for had a computer guy that left. they need to make simple changes to their website.

i've downloaded their stuff.....it appears their website is simply a flash (swf file) and a few links.

what is the best way to edit a file like this.....i really just need to update an address and some names?

their website is pretty weak...but they are not ready for wholesale changes.

thanks for the assistance.

The only way I know of to edit a flash file is with a flash editor, I even forget the names of the program but I do know I've never seen a free flash editor.

I don't know much about flash myself, hopefully someone (like Travis) will be along with better information. :)

Scott your best bet is finding the .FLA (Flash) File. These files create the .swf files. SWF Files are rather hard to decode as they are optimized and secured to protect the initial code from the .fla file.

Let me know if I can be any help. I know a little bit of flash but my dedicated Web employee knows a PLETHORA about it, stuff that blows me away. (It's pretty hard to do that lol)

thanks guys.......

after talking with them....it might make sense for me to redo something simple without the flash file.....can you recommend an easy html editor...preferably free?

i don't know a whole lot about html code....so one that has WYSIWYG would be helpful.

thanks.
