Hey guys any suggestions on a new Car Stereo? After having my truck parked for the last 3 years I am sending it out to get work done on it over the winter and one of the things I am going to do is put a new Stereo in it..When its done I will post some pics

Depends on what kind of system your putting in. If it's a bass thumper be prepared for lots of traffic stops. :D

All joking aside, I'd get a head unit without a lot of built in amp power. The more power the head unit has the hotter it gets in the dash, I've seen these melt wires and vacuum hoses (heater control panel in older cars) behind the dash from running the radio for an extended period of time.

I'd recommend:

A Low powered head unit just to power the front speakers.
Buy a decent sized amp (200-250 watts) to power the rear speakers, make sure the speakers can handle this
Use 6X9 speakers for the rear, they're awesome if your truck don't fit 6X9's, buy boxes from Crutchfield or even Wal-mart sometimes has them.
Unless you're an audiophile don't bother with anything more than 3 coil rear speakers.. The 4 and 5 coil speakers sound like garbage when pumped up a bit.
Good quality amp & amp power cables, if you live in a cold climate.

Good luck with it. :)
