"Pickin' on Sara Evans - A Bluegrass Tribute"

My Sat wedding was a bit of an unorganized trainwreck really tring to happen. The ceremony was moved to the reception hall hours before start time. A sands ceremony was added about 3 hours beforehand, and last I'd heard from the client was "Use what is right and normal." Well, for the sands I use "Simple Gifts" (a duet with Allison Krause and Yo-Yo Ma). This gal, one hour from isle call, asks for Sara Evans' "I Could Not Ask For More". I have Keith Whitley, not Sara. So I tear out less than an hour from start, in a city I'm not at all familiar with, to get the CD.

Wal-Mart has this one.
http://www.cmhrecords.com/web/images/products/8963_Lrg.jpg
http://www.cmhrecords.com/web/page.asp?pgs=product&catid=1&id=989

"I Could Not Ask" is just cruisin' fast and not what I (nor the gal would have) wanted.

I find a real record strore and get "Born To Fly" and life is good once again. Made it back 20 mins before isle call.

So...
That's why I am listening to this.
(PS: This rendition of "Backseat of a Greyhound Bus" is really, really good.)

Bianca Ryan won the "America's Got Talent" TV show a few months ago. Brandy was one of the judges the first night she auditioned. Brandy stood at her judges seat only 20, or so, notes into the song with an "I can't believe what I'm hearing" amazed look on her face. The crowd stood to their feet a few notes later and remained standing throughout the entire song.
THIS GIRL IS BETTER THAN SHANIA, KELLY, and MARIAH at the same point in their lives...PLUS...she has the passion while performing that Janis Joplin had.

Her new cd is a collection of new and old hits. I'm not real big on the collection, but I love to hear her sing.

Check her out...You may be surprised.

Right now I am listening to Tommy DeNoble.... Who? The song is called "Count Every Star".... Tommy was a coworker / friend of mine who died 2 years ago. He performed this song on American Bandstand, back when it was called Philadelphia Bandstand.

ABout 10 years ago Dick Clark was invovled in a PBS show about Bandstand. He was asked what performer in the HISTORY of Bandstand created the most excitement while playing live on the show.

He said that it was Tommy DeNoble. Of course the show was from Philly, and so was Tommy.... but still.... to be called the person who created the most excitement EVER? Damn, that's saying something.

The song is available on iTunes. It is standard 1950's teen idol music. It made the charts nationally, though I am not sure how high. He even appeared in a movie with Annette Funicello....... You young guys can look her up at Wikipedia... :sqwink:

Their harmonies, their songwriting. I grew up listening to The Mamas & The Papas, and I LOVE well-crafted songs with great harmonies. I guess that's why I listen to ABBA. :)

LOL... also easy.

Under the Boardwalk...... I was just listening to Bruce Willis' version 3 days ago.

And... ;) ... I just downloaded 5 versions of IKO IKO the other day for a remix. I'm not mixing it; my buddy is.

Currently, I have 3 artists loaded up on the phone. Two are hopefully potenial clients, and one I doubt it.

The potentials are Fazeshift (www.myspace.com/fazeshift) and Kacie Sheik (if the last name looks familiar, it should).
