OK, you had a $500 price point..... so there ya go. And don't buy it from best buy... you can get it much cheaper, I am sure.
I got my KonicaMinota dimage Z3 off Amazon for just over $200 I think.... 12X zoom.. only 4MP but it's a great camera and I love it. I agree with Papa shop around don't just go to the big dog store... even with shipping you can get a great deal off the website.

musicdoctordj 10-24-2007, 02:18 AM Check out the Panasonic FZ18 or the Fuji S8000 . . .
Both 18X optical zoom (28mm-504mm) and selling for $399.99 US.
Both better cameras than the Canon . . . and less expensive!

MADNESS 11-17-2007, 12:30 PM Remember to look more at optical zoom than digital. Higher optical is better

If you can spend a little more, check out the Nikon D40. You can get a 2 lens kit from Ritz for about $700-$800.

I don't want the compact ones (the wife did)
55 is what I have & soo far I say it rocks for ease of use!
jfactor1 12-17-2007, 07:06 PM Great shots Al!!! Much better than the ones you posted a while back.
One thing you might want to consider is an external flash. Most built in flashes have a range of 10-15 feet. An external flash will reach much farther which would really help with those hockey pics.
eklondon 12-17-2007, 10:08 PM I didn't use the flash on those PICs, (Glare off the glass)
Jon Tuck 12-18-2007, 03:16 AM Big Al dont give the yank too much grief after all he probably wants the blue tail to return to Fox broadcasts.
