I want to be able to remove it at the end of the night....
Talking a T bar, not truss...thinking 2 inch O clamp.....

That's the way I do my Sunrays. Put an "O" clamp on only two opposite corners of the fixture. I've hung mine upside down on occasion and they work just fine.

I've seen it done that way but ontop over the t connector...

I've drilled a hole in the base plate, so I can get away with one clamp (with one safety cable....)

I have the Starball II on order so I haven't got it yet... been toying with three ways of mounting on top, hanging or just simply sitting it on top of my table or speaker.
When ya get yours done can you post pics?

What Tyrone says... works like a charm for me as well. Make sure you have something on other side to balance it out, even with an angled support arm.
I mounted my Starball II using two O-clamps on diagonal corners too, I've put it on top of a T-bar and also hung it from truss. I did have to drill out the mounting holes a little to fit the O-Clamps bolt.
