My thoughts are:

Yes a few are very common. But they are great music

I say very few know of Econoline Crush or Therory of a Deadman

Some may know Cory Lee but I doubt play her.

I didn't know SoulDecision was from canada until recently

There are many great Canadian artists even the US hasnt had the pleasure of knowing. Direction, management, promotion breaking up and starting ten other bands before giving it up for family or whatever. There are many I didnt know about though I knew many if they even had a slight glimmer in the US I most often knew about it. Having moved to Canada five yrs ago I found a huge new bunch of music I had not experienced in my past 43 yrs and juat because a young man in Pittsburgh hasnt heard of them doesnt mean they werent Great Canadian Music.I give you credit for econoloine crush, and Cory Lee but Theory of A Deadman and Nickelback actually were more known originally and made charts first in the States.

Durring a concert here I was about 5 rows back and inadvertantly shouted at a quite point in the song "You Can Crank My Tractor!!!!" She heard me and said "hey now this is a family show" :sqembarrassed:

No joke she really did hear me.... we stuck around and even got to hang out for a bit.... very nice, very hot.

I'm a Yankee but Loved some of the Canadian Content songs from Toronto,Hamilton,and Windsor..How about Daytime Nighttime-Keith Hampshire/You've Got Control of Me-Les Emerson/Signs-Five Man Electrical Band/This is My Song-Don Goodwin/Summer Girl-Craig Runkhe/Bondi Junction-Peter Foldy/Heartbeat It's a Lovebeat-DeFranco Family/Lovin' You Ain't Easy-Pagliaro/Lonesome Mary- Chilliwack/The Last Song-Edward Bear..All of this stuff was played on CKLW/CHUM/CFTR/CKOC/CHAM and some even on Buffalo and Rochester stations in the 70's..One more I remember was something about "Too Young To Fall In Love" The group was "Flying Circus"..I worked at a small West Virginia Radio Station and had the CFTR Toronto PD send me Promo Copies..One I remember breaking locally was Heartbeat,It's a Lovebeat...The Defranco Family were called "The Italian Osmonds"..Listeners also called My Nighttime Competition for "This is My Song" by Don Goodwin..They eventually found it Somewhere..I put it in my Top 10...DJ Cam noted Souldecision were Canadian..Did'nt know that..I play "Faded" frequently.

Yup seen him in concert a couple of times back in the late 80s or early 90s very talented performer...

One of those shows he opened for another Canadian Ray Lyell

theres a guy who had a single name and was an oddball out around the same time as Bentall. I heard Bentalls son is now performing.

You Say Party We Say Die is a "punk" band from my town that happens to be popular in Europe. I have a couple of their singles, ordered from England.

Deja Voodoo was popular in Europe, too, until they disbanded to go and find real jobs.

We have the legendary D.O.A. and Dayglo Abortions.

Mike Meyers' brother sings, but I forget his name, and he looks just like Mike.

There is a CD collection that I used to have, called LAST CALL, featuring independent music from Vancouver, from 1977-1988 (?-or so). I cannot remember their names, but there were some "big" ones.

Oh, and we have that Chris Sheppard DJ guy.
