My laptop has an S-Video out on it, but I can not get it to work. I am trying to hook it into a TV, but all I get is a blank blue screen on the TV.
Anyone know what the problem may be?
(and please keep in mind that I am not a techie, so please speak English when giving suggestions and not techno-speak, lol)

There should be a Function (Fn) key and another key that you need to press togrther to go TV out.....What's the make and model of the laptop....

You also have to right click and extend your desktop.
What kind of computer?

We need the model # - it should be on the bottom - XP or Vista?

Toshiba
Use the function and F5 keys together. Also, you want to make sure the tv is hooked up to the computer when you boot up. Function F5 will split screen so that what you see on the computer will be on the tv. If you're trying to use it, like for VDJ or karaoke, then you have to extend your desktop to the tv.

I Use A Toshiba Satellite and all I need to do is press and hold the "Fn" which is between the Ctrl and Alt keys to the left of the space bar. At the same time I press F5 and it will toggel throught your video display options. No need to boot up with the video cable connected.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the help guys, but as usual, nothing with computers ever works the way it is supposed to with me.
I still only get a blank screen, so I am not even going to bother with it.

You might have the intel display manager, it is a blue rectangle icon with a star in it. You would click that and click clone output to TV I believe.
