    Next Tech: Ground Loop/Lift

I have a few. I used to teach the NFPA70E (electrical safety) program before I retired. Would often start out the class with them. I also have pics of the boneheads who tried stealing copper from energized equipment. Not pretty...

    Next Tech: Ground Loop/Lift

I’ve worked in the older 40 cal, not fun. Some have cooling devices now. Under today’s NFPA70E rules it should be a rare event to work on anything energized with the exception of utilities. There were very few electrical safety rules when I started. I mostly just drink beer now :)

    Next Tech: Ground Loop/Lift

Sorry you are very wrong. I’ve installed diodes and SCRs so large they’re water cooled. Many have failed open, totally blown apart. You apparently do not understand the purpose of a equipment ground. I’ve been installing electrical equipment since 1977. Please explain how a breaker will trip...

    Next Tech: Ground Loop/Lift

If your proposing inserting this circuit in series with the existing equipment ground, it could interfere with ground fault current , if you have one. Which would also slow the circuit breaker reaction time and increase equipment damage. Especially if the diodes fail. The resistor will defeat...

I bet your DJ service doesn't offer this

He's actually a massage therapist too. For $800 bucks you get the DJ services, a bartender, uplighting and the bridal party gets a massage.

What happens if you get to a venue and don't have ground continuity?

The equipment ground (at receptacle) is bonded to the "grounded conductor" usually called, but not always the neutral at the main service panel. The grounded conductor also is bonded to the building piping, ground rods, rerods, building steel, etc. through a grounding electrode conductor. The...

    Freestyler Dongle

I have an Obey 40 DMX controller. Is there any advantage to using software based/dongle controllers when just using simple setups? I just have a couple colorstrips and a dozen pars. I may purchase a couple of moving heads.

The color strips can be dimmed, if you use dmx.

    Drone help

Great drone. My son has the same. I use mine for photos and occasionally a video. Range is not an issue for me. Line of sight mostly. Makes me nervous when I can’t find it in the sky. :)

    Drone help

I have both the DJI Spark and the DJI Phantom Pro 3. Both great drones. They’re also easy to fly due to gps. The Spark is great for taking quick photos or vids because setup is quick. The Phantom takes a more professional photo and 4K video. Spark with the controller around 699. There is a...

    Drone help

I have the DJI Phantom Pro. Love it. It's easy to fly and takes great pics and vids. However DJI just came out with the Mavic Pro. Much smaller, faster setup. Will probably be my next.
