Here is one that I have been using since the late 70's to present. Whenever I have played it I have NEVER had an empty dance floor. Its an Import and I have a special Limited DJ version of it. Mine is on Vinyl but I converted it to a CD then to MP3. At the tail end of the medly, it goes to Billy Idol's "Mony Mony", thats when I blend it in with the Extended version of "Mony Mony and thus expand the song even further. You may see more people coming on to the dance floor at that time. Try it out. I was really surprised to see it for sale. I guess its only the DJ version that isn't.

I do most of my "medleys" myself and live i do have a few recorded for downtimes.
I do have jive bunny, Stars on 45, grease megamix and every damn medley mark roberts did in my repertoire but shyaway from them in lieu of my own stuff.

Since coming back in business... not a single one... way back in the day I played that Stars on 45 one sometimes.

Yeah! I have a host of those too on vinyl. Rolling stones, Abba, Beatles, Beach Boys. They were the tunes to have in the 70s early 80s

A couple of weeks ago I had an event where this guest would NOT stop asking for Madonna. I would play a Madonna tune, and 5 min later, she would want another one. So, I found a Madonna Ultimix Medley... voila!

I think it crams 15 of her top hits in 7 min...

Needless to say, she was happy...

Thats a good one too that I play from time to time. Some people like the mix and others get pissed because they do not hear the whole songs.

I think Medley's can be great and used to good effect but I don't think they should be too heavily relied on. It makes you lazy and takes away motivation to be creative.

My sister complained to me of a club DJ who did their Christmas party...he was playing the wrong kind of music for the crowd (club/techno crap that no one was dancing to) so she asked if he could put on some good dance music (80's or something) and he said sure...I'll just put on a mastermix and proceeded to load a 20 minute premixed dance medley of dance songs with an annoying techno beat...

That being said...I love the way the dance floor goes crazy with "Jive Bunny - That's What I Like" in particular. The Elvis Medley is also good (an official release that starts off with Hound Dog and Jailhouse Rock and ends with Suspicious Minds).

I like Prince's Purple Medley but have never played it at a gig.

A Madonna medley that is danceable could come in handy...can it be purchased legally?

I think it would be great if we could all share the good ones...especially if you know where they can be purchased on the up-and-up!

I usually play Gypsy Kings medley, Donna Summer and Jive Bunny.
I like them because of the tempo, all mixed song are well known and they are under 4 minutes.

I like Ultimix 80s Megamix and usually start when the song goes into pump this party.

I like Ultimix Sounds of the 70s (I think this is the best Megamix ever done)

Of course Jive Bunny and the Grease Megamix are main stays in my rotation at a Wedding Reception.
