Don't forget the old school tunes. The Twist, Jailhouse Rock, Rock Around The Clock and uptempo Motown (Do You Love Me by the Contours etc) still go over well with the middle school crowds. :)

Lets not forget the Elmo version of the chicken Dance the kids go berserk to this little ditty. While we are at it Grease megamix especially the part where they chant shes a real***** wagon. Sorry I think most Lady Gaga and most any Rihanna stuff. the lists presented were exceptional. do some research of your radio charts and listen to the songs to make your own choices fitting your comfort level. Trust me research will always win out in the end. Its your credibility on the line.

I dont think its half as bad as some of the stuff out there, and it is a remake of a classic

I don't know that it's a remake; he just samples that one line.

It's a tough call on that song. I suppose it's no worse than "low".

At least the tempo is high, it's not in the "hump and grind zone"...

Try to avoid as much of the 70-90 bpm, hump and grind crap.....energy music seems to work well....

"Right Round" does sample a portion of "You Spin Me Right Round" by Dead Or Alive - and that's about all. The original track is just about a guy hitting on a gal...mentions nothing about going down on someone like the Flo Rida / Katy Perry tune. I wouldn't play this tune (the new one) for a middle school crowd. Besides, there really isn't much of a danceable beat to it anyway.

How about some Avril Lavigne? Miley Cyrus? Jonas Brothers? Maybe some Fallout Boy...more modern fun rock?

You're kidding me, right? "Right Round" is probably the MOST danceable song on the charts right now.

Avril Lavigne is so last year. Miley's okay and the Jonas Brothers have a movie out right now, but they can't move a crowd like Flo Rida. I held off playing "Low" for the longest time, but now so many people know it that it doesn't offend anyone. I'm not waiting to play "Right Round"... it's what moves the dance floor and it brings up the energy in a room instantly.

It's about as danceable as this....

Same back beat, slightly different bpm speed. Good for chilling back in the 90s, I suppose.

Personally, I think the Flo Rida Right Round isn't good for all that much. The beat isn't that great, the rap itself sucks. I think all it's really good for is training or lifting at the gym.

I could see it as a workable tune for the gym, especially in the weight room. I would just have to ignore the whole "going down" line.

Keri Hison-Turning me on
Lady Gaga-Just dance
Akon-Beautiful
T.I.-Whatever U like

Sorry guys I didnt know the diffrience between sample and remake until I googeled em :sqembarrassed:

We used it at a highschool dance friday and it seemed to be the second best song (Let it rock was better)

And its Flo Rida feat. Kesha not Katy Perry http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/content_display/industry/e3ie05a38638979f59e4c4318fff65820e6

I have heard right round is kinda pushing it too. Thoughts?

Right Around I usually play it the Junior hIgh I usually DJ at and they usually request it and it is not offensive.
