Sweet deal

I give every B&G a card that night, hand written with a $25 gift card to Applebee's or On The Boarder. It makes a great impact and I get a lot of personal thank you notes in return plus, a lot of great refferals.:sqwink:

Other type of event I send the a thank you card via mail.

So DjCC you give them yet another $25.00 Discount with a gift card on top of what you did for the show...

instead of say doing the show for $100 your now doing it for $75.00

mmmm oh well his to thier own

As long as the gift card is factored into the cost of doing business, then why not? Getting something like that unexpectedly can make people feel all warm and fuzzy and that is good for you.

I have made a couple of deals with the location managers. I pay for $100 and I get $150.

Around Christmas most of the time I can get 2 for 1 deals.:sqwink::sqwink::sqbiggrin:

So, no I'm not doing the event for less money, but my return on investment is wonderful!!

Sometimes you need to stop thinking that you are "loosing" $25 on that show and look forward to the $1,000's you make from that over the top referal.

It depends on the REASON for the thank you.

Email is timely and interpersonal - like a phone call but not in real time. Email can quickly build a relationship.

Cards are nice, but untimely and for commercial purposes they have been over-done. Think about how many "thank-you for your business" cards and notes you get everyday. Even the personalized stuff is now commonly recognized as a form of advertsing junk mail.

If you are including a gift - then a card by postal mail is the way to do it. If you are trying to build or maintain a relationship then you should connect while the familiar still lingers: pick up the phone or email. Memories are kept longer than most paper.
