I took my 4 LED Pars out last night to a wedding....I programmed 8 banks of scenes into my Chauvet DMX 50 A controller....4 at once, patterns of 2, 1..... etc.
I was really pleased...It was a small affair... about 125 people...Small dance floor. I actually had to dim the pars to about 50%; they are that bright. With 4, patterns of two seem to look the best.......I ran them off audio, using my zone out on my mixer.....that worked really good....4 is certanly enough for weddings...I had contemplated a couple of acrobats, or an efx. Given that most dance floors are 25 x 25..I think one effect light is enough..I also have 2 starballs foe that retro look on slow stuff....
These are Weidamark pars......recommend them highly
I'll try to get some video posted tomorrow

The LED pars are the hottest things out there welcome to the LED family... these lights are awesome.. they get better when you get too sit down and program more banks and the cool effects and combinations of colors and lights you can do.

Steve=ThatMusicGuy : Very crisp clean looking lighting tree. Might I inquire as to what's your best guess, setup time for the PAR tree and controller hookup, from the hall's driveway to activation?

Looks really nice. I guess 4 is going to be enough, assuming an average crowd of 100 to 150 persons.

I'm going to be placing an order at the 10+ price, very soon!

nice to hear all the good comments, but I'm still waiting for Vegas to hopefully see them, and if I have enough money left after golf....

Chuck, I love mine. For just over $500 you can get 4 of these awesome lights. Who needs par cans anymore?

I got to see the Par64 LED fixtures at our newly opened Guitar Center in Cedar Rapids this week, and I gotta say I wasn't impressed. I asked the guy if they were turned on full up, and he said yes. I could look directly into them without pain, unlike my Colorsplash196s... Furthermore, the small black painted room they were installed in seemed to absorbe all the color they put off. Didn't even light up the guys in the middle of the room.

Perhaps he was feeding my balony, but I'm personally glad I went with the Chauvets at this point. I'm lighting up a gym with just 4 of them. From what I saw at GC, I'd need 16-20 to do the same job.

With that, I'll also mention they had a couple of the square Chauvet LED Blacklight fixtures, at $400 each, and again, was not impressed. Noticed no UV effects at all within 20 feet of the fixtures.

What brand were they selling? American DJ?

the Wiedamarks are NOT sold in Guitar Center stores........you MUST BUY DIRECT from the manufacturer (OEM) in Dallas TX.

LED Par64s are ADJ, yes! That is what they were selling at GC. ADJ! The givaway was the bold white lettering and the gel frame... ;)
I've heard these are such great fixtures, but they looked pretty blah to me.

I've yet to see the Wiedamarks in person.

I only own two Weidmarks, I'm "on the fence" to buy more.
They only measure around 200 LUX at 10 feet.

One 250W MSD wash light can measure over 2000 LUX at 10 feet.

The market is changing very fast. I expect to see LED PARS hitting close to these numbers at a reasonable price soon.

Weidamark Led's?

Hi thatmusicguy
Rich Freeze here. Where did you get your Led's and what model are they? What did they cost? Your setup looks great, simple and probably very quick to setup.
Thanks Again
Rich Freeze

OK, I first used these in sound active mode last spring when I got them. I had them on during dinner for a bit and they cahnged colors and strobed very nicely for Sinatra, Deano, & other similar music. I couldn't wait to get to dancing.

Open danging comes and I crank the volume and bass. Wouldn't you believe that the lights really wouldn't change anymore. They would basically stay on one color for songs on end. I guess maybe they got overloaded with sound at that point. This is why I then went and bought a DMX controller the next day. I used them in DMX for my next shows without problems.

Fast forward to last night. I just wanted them in sound active mode again and again they worked well during dinner music testing. They were fantastic. I was scared to raise the volume during open dancing but had to do so anyway. It didn't matter, the lights still were awesome.

One of the LED's was perfect all night. The other one would sometimes get stuck on a color so I would simply reach up to tap it and then it would continue it's color changing again with no problems.

For what it's worth I know I didn't have the volume/bass as loud last night as the first time I had them in sound active mode. I also wasn't playing the same music. The first party was a sweet 16. Last night was a family style engagement party.

I do love these lights though and when the sound active mode works they were fantastic with their color changing and strobing. Some day I'm really going to have to sit down and program my lights though. Someday! lol

I'm wondering Chris, that if you put something over the mic, it would allow the light to respond better at high volumes.....In sound active, as soon as I turned it up they were useless...it needs a sensitivity knob.....I'm sure you could wire a new mic/knob and swap it out.
