Well, thank you sir :)

As to ASIO:

Y'know, I downloaded the latest Giga HD 64 bit drivers (EWDM), and it was nothing but grief for two days (and no great joy in the end, although I sorta got them to work after 3 reboots) :sqerr:

Whoever's writing the drivers for ESI, should get together and have a few beers with the Native Instrument folks. ASIO is history, and the new audio stack in Vista/7 does not require them, or work well with them.

ASIO was a finger in the dike -- no need for that anymore :)

Well if you can get my multchannel GIGAPORT working with WIN7 so I can preview the same as with the ASIO drivers I don't care how you do it.

As long as I don't have to load and switch between drivers manually as my other programs still need ASIO and they work well.

If you can do that a tip of the hat to you my friend
:sqwink:

The Gigaport HD will show as 4 outputs on Win 7 under Rockit :)

They've discontinued the AG, and replaced it with the HD. If you have the old one, I noticed they have relatively new drivers available on their site -- you could try and see if they updated...

Edit: Because of the issues I've had installing their new HD drivers on 64 bit systems, I would certainly recommend the Audio 2 DJ over the Gigaports, but I did manage to get the HD drivers to work on a couple of 64 bit machines -- YMMV...

That's good news perhaps WIN7 fixes problems for both of us..

I believe I have the most recent ASIO ver for 32B on my Laptop after the WIN7 install and it's all good.

Let us know when there is a beta available of Rocket, I would like to try it out with my GIGAPORT .

Now if I could just get that one screen color figured out from a few months ago John Tuck and I would be "Golden" and I may have to break open the bank on the next "Special Offer" of Rocket.

My Next Laptop will be another ASUS gamer and 64B so I'm thinking ahead.

No need for a beta of Rockit -- the current version will show the multi outs on the Giga HD. Rockit does not look for ASIO, but it will see the outputs using the EWDM drivers that come with the HD.

Here's what Rockit (current shipping version) sees in Win 7 (64), with both the Gigaport HD and Audio 2 DJ plugged in. Including the built in sound card, I have 7 sets of stereo outputs (do you need more)...? :D

Sweet, but I'd just love to use my Playlists at the same time...

Good work and thanks Rick for the update..:sqwink:

So If I understand correctly my current configuration using my GIGAPORT AG and ASIO for other DJ programs will still work and Rocket will transparently be using WIN7 32 Bit drivers correct.

Note Gigaport HD, not AG

They have newer drivers for the AG, but I haven't tried them, because I can't find where I put the AG I have... :sqerr:

My guess though, is that the AG probably does not have EWDM drivers, since they discontinued it (although you should download their latest, and try it first)...

What you said is correct for the HD though :)

Edit: BTW, I have no idea what this means...

Let the M3U feature out of the box :sqwink:

Ahhh, if only it were that easy...

V5 is a major release, so no quick patches or anything -- all the core stuff is being redone -- blah, blah, BS, BS, cough, cough, etc., etc... :D

Much effort is being directed into touchscreen stuff, hint ;)

The M3U stuff is easy, since Rockit's library/playlist format is published (see last addendum in the Op Manual). A quick macro in any decent text editor or MS Word would do the conversion from M3U to Rockit XML format.

You wouldn't want me to take all the fun out of this journey for you folks, now would you...? :)

AHH so it will be a conversion, not running directly from the M3U file then,,

According to the ESI documentation the AG supports the WDM protocol only the HD also supports the ESI EWDM.

Not sure what exactly the differences would be control wise or which ones you would use in (Rocket)

Right now, I have it setup as import -- meaning you point at an M3U, and it converts it into a Rockit playlist, and drops it into your playlist list. It would be easy enough to play direct from the M3U, but then you lose all the cool display information and file and tag validation that Rockit does on the import.

Just doing a quick test, I imported an M3U with 140 songs in under 1 second, with complete tag info, validation, etc. So, probably better off that way (and much faster), then having to rescan them each time an M3U is displayed.

I'll see if I can find my AG today, and see if it will work with the HD drivers, just for S&G...

OK Maybe I missed it or am to tired this early but what is M3U

Basically a playlist file in text format.

I think Winamp originated it, and lots of old, not well designed software still uses it... :D

That would be great to see it work as there are a lot more Gigaport AG's out there than the HD version.

So far no joy -- I found it and plugged it in, and the HD drivers cease to function...

I'll try later to reinstall the drivers fresh using the AG instead of the HD (my PS3 just came, so more important things right now) :D

For anyone that missed it, the SoftJock website has been redone -- check it out :)

BTW, I'm only posting this, because Booch's "Hey Booch" thread on Ryan's site, has more views -- that's pure garbage, IMHO, and everyone should view this thread at least 100 times per day, so we can overtake the evil Garbage Master (and his plan for world domination)... :sqlaugh:
