Last night we went out for our yearly get together with some of my wife's friends. One of them was talking about her cousin's upcoming wedding. "Rumor" has it that the bride is the daughter of a mafia figure in Italy. Here are some interesting facts about the upcoming wedding:

16 bridesmaids inc. the MoH.
7 Groomsmen but no best man
344 expected guests
$182 pp
8 hour reception ( that never happens in the Philly area )... but hey, it might take an hour to introduce the bridal party!
A DJ and a band.... I haven't seen that in 20 years, I bet.

and being held in an "average" quality place because it was the only place big enough in the area they live.

I guess if I had the chance, I would want to do this event. But that "rumor" might bother me some. I actually lived 3 doors away from someone who was "connected". When his daughter got married, I figured I might be the DJ. Well, he told me "You're better off just being a guest than working"... I went to the wedding as a guest and didn't see anything that would have made me not want to DJ it, but I guess that guy knew best.

Would you want this event?

hell yeah I'd take it!
they're obivously not concerned with nit-picking over PRICE!
and since you're playing between sets of a band...that makes it even easier!
just don't understand the difference in the bridesmaids vs. groomsmen.
are they trying to keep the groom in his place?
trying to prove that the bride will ALWAYS get what she wants,
or she'll call Daddy?

My biggest was 10 groomsmen and 10 bridesmaids, 2 Best Men, Maid of Honor, Matorn of Honor, 2 Flower Girls, 2 Ring Barers, Both Brides and grooms parents were remarried and some grand parents were still alive.

What a pain for that inroduction.
