Weddings Would this be to much?

I love the idea of the lighted facade, but I think the logo detracts from it's visual effect.....YMMV

Would I use the facade with a logo at a wedding? Probably not.

But if it works for someone else and their clients are cool with it, more power to them.. :)

Isn't that Waylon Jennings' logo?

I would NEVER use that at weddings. I too don't like luminated facades...you gotta be careful, it may clash with the other colors, or the client or venue may not approve of it.

I have DJd in places where the venue would not let me bring in my DJ lighting.

My last reply. If I were to be cool with it the logo in this instance is not discreet and therefore would not use it at a wedding. My logo would look incredible on the Facade (thanks Hank) although as mentioned b4, I would subdue it until dance party time and yes at a WEDDING!!. I turn my acrobat on etc its time to celebrate.

As mentioned above. In like the lower right hand corner I think this would be more than acceptable.

Its not anything like a huge 3x8 Banner...so this would be very nice.

Do your wedding party let their hair down after the celebrating begins on the dancefloor? Do you use DMX lighting for dinner or cocktail or during toasts? So most of your saying even during the dance party portion it would be tacky? Im not following a rhyme or reason to not have this lit up for dance portion when all your lighting is flashing etc. the music even emits loud.

I dont usually like banners or logos at a wedding.
but in this case, I think it looks good with the facade...
BUT
I agree you should not have it visible until the party kicks in...
and I would DEFINITELY not want the logo to be that big.

What About The Photographer

Does the Photographer have a problem putting his Company Name/Logo on the Wedding Photographs? Think about that for a minute!

Its like I said many times before....keep disappearing.. keep being obscure...its no wonder venues are beginning to feel they don't need DJs anymore. Sooner or later they will start installing ceiling speakers and a PA Amp/mixer and you all won't be able to bring in anything but music source!

I would think a photographer that does something like that wouldn't be in business too long.

I don't know about where you are but down here all the Wedding Photographs I have ever seen, taken by a Professional Photographer, has the logo in the corner. It is actually the copyright. This is why some Photo Labs would not reproduce photographs with logos/markings on them.

Same here!

yeah
but theres a big difference between a small logo on the bottom of a picture that only the B/G see...
and a huge advertising banner/logo that is smack dab in the middle of the dance floor where EVERYONE can see it.

I agree, Houston
I'd love to get more bang for the buck
and it makes sense to promote yourself however you can.
but I have been asked to take down my banner on several occassions, so I dont even bring one anymore.

and yes! the photog is only trying to copywright his work, where as we cannot really do the same with a live performance

most every photographer around here gives the client the rights to all photos regardless of the packages purchased.

Then I would wager they charge more upfront.

That big old logo takes away from the look of the facade. I would not use it at a wedding or any other kind of party. I think a facade is nice to hide your speaker poles and wires behind, that's it. Projecting things off of a facade is tacky. Lighting it up softly with a nice color from an uplight is about the extent I would go.
