Hundred Acre Wood
Hello to one and all. I'm the newest guy to the forum as of 10:00am EST today.

=)

I have 24 years of experience behind me and have played various venues up and down the east coast. I have seen and done alot over the years! I've been on the music scene full time and part time over the years. I specialize in weddings but I can do (and have done) all kinds and types of shows.

Back when I got into the business, I had a set of home made speaker boxes (I still have them and at times, use them). Back then, I also used a set of Technics turntables, a Teac cassette deck and an Atus AM300E mixer. I then migrated into the land of the CD - using 2 Technics house decks (these and the Atus are in storage).

Over the years, I have gathered and used various pieces of equipment. My 'big' system consists of Pioneer CD players and Serato Itch funneled through a Pioneer mixer and backed by a Crown amp and some older Peavey cabs that were retrofitted with some Black Widows - nice hard wood cabs. For larger events, I'll bring out the Peavey SP2 (Black Widow) speakers. I can also double them up if I need to.

My 'typical' set consists of most of the goodies of the big show with QSC K12 powered speakers.

Other brands I typically use are Sennheiser, Shure, Technics, Behringer and EV.

Over the years I have also gotten into lighting. While my main focus is on the musical presentation, I like the plug and play intelligent lighting - I have also done some light programming. Some brands I use for lighting - American DJ, Chauvet and Martin.

Nice intro. Hang out here, contribute a bunch, learn more, and become as dysfunctional as the rest of us are. You may not thank us for that, but no one else will listen to you anymore anyway, so you'll stay.

Thanks. Trying to contribute - I think I contributed alot today! Ha! Dysfunctional or not, we're all special in our own ways.

=)

Seems like an awesome place thus far!

It is. I have been in three different DJ organizations, NACE, ABC, and mulitiple "Wedding Professionals" groups. I even started one DJ org, and the ABC chapter with others.

I have learned more here than anywhere else.

How's business there? Kinda slow down here right now - typical this time of year I think.

Yup, slow here as well...even a little slower than last January.

Oh well, at least one of my competitors (Tommy O) is keeping his talents bundled to the Elks Lodge. :tritongue:

Maybe now business will start to increase...

We're all a l'il slow down here right now. Like I said, I think it's typical to be a l'il slow right now and with the economy the way it is, it's that much worse. I have stuff, I'm just not balls to the wall right now.
