Well, they were a client at the time and not a prospect.
When we got together for their finalization I mentioned certain play lists I have and they asked for them. To me, the client was asking for information and it was clearly understood that they wanted to use this to help guide them in selecting music.

I think I would still use the "ask a question with a question" logic because really, we want to know what they're looking for. I also agree that you don't want to be called out for your music. Some of these threads get resurrected because of where they show up on the list.
