Well maybe he wants to cut costs in half and lessen his load in half too, eh!

What's with you guys and your processing? The dude was looking for a case :sqconfused:

I don't understand this whole processing thing -- the only thing I have is a crossover, if I'm bi-amping. Nice, simple, clean sound. :)

BTW, I have a couple SKB's, and I find them slippery as well.

Then don't use them when DJ ing Jell-o wrestling. ...

:D

Actually, they slide all around on my desk, table and floor, and the grips are smooth -- it's easy to lose your grip of a side, if yer not paying attention.

I like the weight of them, but they should have rubber grippers on the bottom, and some sort of rougher coatings on the handles. The rack mounts should also match, instead of being slightly off (both mine are slightly off kilter).

Quality control, I guess... ;)

Rick, you need to get to work on some latex yorofl: I'm getting the SKB's as soon as I finish all the other stuff done, and some rubber strips in the bottom should take care of the problem ;)

Yeah, easy enough -- but, given the price I paid for them, don't you think they would have designed them to work properly in the environment they would be used in...? ;)

Perhaps they should learn about beta testing products in actual use -- before they release a product that the engineers never actually used at a gig. My guess, is the engineers are not musicians or DJs, and are just paid to design something that looks good, is cheap to manufacture, and sells...

Just sayin', y'know... :)

I also have a pair of PV115's and they get the job done and after 1 gig are paid for. I have performed 6 weddings with them and all of my surveys/feedback have been 10/10 for sound quality. They even held thier own at a sweet 16 and sounded great! They do not have a lot of bass, but can get the job done without a sub. However I just purchased a new SP118 sub and driverack pa+ to make up for the lack of bass.

You can get 1 SP118 for cheaper than 2 PV118's. The reviews on the pv118's were not full of enough positives, plus everyone who seems to own them are also trying to sell them. The PV118 are covered in carpet while the sp118 is not. My only suggestion is to leave the PV118's at the store and buy 1 single sub with better qualities/features.

I think they sound pretty good but def need some sub fill. I wouldn't mind the SP118 but I can get two PV118's NIB for $360 out the door so I really cant justify the extra to get the SP series at the moment. I have a 3 month old and am out of work due to a torn shoulder so money is VERY limited right now.

Do you set you case directly on the table top or do you have a table skirt/cloth/cover?

Generally directly on a tabletop of some sort.

I realize it's something easy to deal with, and I in fact have -- but you would have thunk they would have provided some little rubber pads to go on the bottom, and at least aligned the rack rails properly, and put some grooves or something in the handles... :sqerr:

I have a couple, so the build quality control issue is not just limited to a single defective item.

A truly simple and beneficial addition, regarding both the slippage issue and your presentation would be a table cover. A black cover would blend with your SKB ish.

I rarely DJ anymore Rox -- maybe once or twice a year now, so my issue is with the quality control. I use them a lot around the office in testing, and they slide without me having to put "feet" on them.

I have $29 speakers, that came with sticky "feet" to apply if needed. Again, you would've thunk they would include that for the price.

@Rob: Maybe you got one from a good batch. Both of mine are off by almost 1.5 mm. I'm anal about that stuff -- even my empty beer bottles are label aligned.
