I running the Denon DX500 mixer and the Denon HD2500 player.

I have my Laptop with an interface plugged into channel inputs 2 & 4 of the Denon mixer by RCA jacks. On the front the channel selectors are set on channels 2 & 4.

Problem #1: I have no volume coming out of channel 2. However both are playing out of channel 4. To get the volume for the room size, I have tonight, I have to move the volume slider to "10". Why is there no volume coming out of channel two? Why does the volume on channel 4 have to be so high?

Now on to the Denon player. The player is plugged into the above mixer also. The left player is plugged into input jack 6 and the right player into input jack 8. The left channel is working fine with volume for the room set at 3.

Problem #2: The right player is playing but there is no volume coming out of that channel.

All faders are turned off.

Everything worked fine last night. I think (or hope) that a button or setting may have be changed during transit.

Need help fast! I only have a few hours to show time.

In order to use the HD2500 as a dual player sound card you have to use the ASIO drivers.... if you are using VDJ set your Sound output to External Mixer and select ASIO for the sound card.... in the main config turn off the software crossfader and use the one on the mixer instead.

Thanks! I'm using PCDJ.

Everything worked fine last night. I don't think it's the computer setting, because the Denon player has a problem also. I can only hear the left side. The right player is working but there is no volume.

No really I wish I could help but its been a long time since I've used pcdj... have you tried swapping inputs on your mixer to see if the problem moves? If it doesn't then its likely the mixer... if it does its somewhere between the computer and your connectors or sound cards.... I had a mixer do me that way before.

Have you tried any of the other inputs on the mixer?

For now let's leave the computer out of the problem and talk about the Denon Player to Denon Mixer. The both sides play. The left side has volume output the right side doesn't.

Can I assume though that ultimately the music is actually coming from the computer into the HD2500 and then to the mixer? If so then:

Now that I re-read you post are you saying that you only get sound from the left channel and nothing from the right? I've had that happen before and I don't know how it happened but, in the Properties menu for your Playback device I found that the Balance was shoved all the way to the left. Honestly I don't remember moving it, but once I centered it and applied the change all was right with the world again.

If not please explain your signal chain to me as I'm trying to understand where your problem originates it sometimes helps to start from the top and go through each device until the problem can be isolated.

jokerswild, thank for your help!

When I went to set up in the morning, I was tried from the gig the night before and wasn't thinking straight. When the "stuff" wasn't working right I started to panic. As I'm sure we all do sometimes. LOL Bad mistake. Driving back to the gig location, after supper, which is about 1 hour away I started thinking what I had done different the night before when it was all working. When I arrived at the gig, fresh and relaxed from an afternoon sleep, I started playing background music through the one channel that was working. While it was playing I started to compare all the buttons on the mixer and the Denon player. Then I noticed something. The gain input on two channels on the mixer was turned all the way down. So I had no input from anything expect channels 2 & 3. I think the evening before when I shut down, I must have turned the gain inputs down thinking I was turning down the mics. I guess we all do stupid things and really feel stupid after asking for help. LOL Problem solved. Let everyone include myself remember when we have a problem, NOT to panic. Thanks once again.
