Hello, I have decided to offer 6 Resident Dj's for my online Radio show. There will be a small verification process. There is also at least 1 day of trainng spreadout when you can train. If you guys are interested please let me know.

Ok Kyle, I am going to be nice here....how about you stop being so damn cryptic about everything and actually TELL US what your "radio show" is....what formats? How about a WEBSITE!!! (yeah, I know it's surprising someone would want to know that since it is an ONLINE SHOW!!).....If you want anyone in here to actually take you seriously, you got to start acting like a professional and not just some 16 year with his mommies computer in a bedroom.

Anyways the format is digital. http://www.djkyleradioshow.com/ anything else ask me nicely not mean.

Oh dude, if you thought that was harsh, you are in for a world of hurt when I actually start not being nice.

But simply because I am bored and just killing time, here it is, in a NICE way:

1. "Digital" is not a format and really tells me all I need to know about how you are running this. "Digital" is the medium by which the content will be delivered. Rock, pop, country, techno, house, rap, hip-hop, electronica and so on is the "format". If you don't know the different between the two terms, you are most likely not going to get anyone from this board to join you.

2. Your site needs some SERIOUS work. Once again, you are being "Mr Secretive" on it. If just a random person stumbles on it, they are going to have NO idea what your site is about. There is ZERO explanation as to what your show (or shows) would be, and no reason for anyone to actually stay and listen. Plus, your "social Networking" links don't work (they do not take you to your facebook pages, it just brings up a "like" box....no one is going to "like" the page without knowing what is actually is)

3. Your "we need help with" pages needs to actually have some type of description of what each of those positions would be. Once again, you are not going to get anyone responding by simply putting job titles on it.

4. The testimonials thing is pretty cool, but it really should not be called testimonials...A testimonial is a statement from a client endorsing your company....you don't have clients...you have listeners...and as such, it should be "comments" or "chat here".

5. Finally....you never have told us, here on the board....what it is you are looking for. Are you planning on having a set schedule for the show? How long would each of our show's be? can we pick our own times? Can we play anything we want or does it have to be a certain thing you are looking for? (I think you can kind of see where I am going with this).

I don't think any of us have a problem helping you out and giving you advice....but you have to actually take that advice and do something with it and not play cloak and dagger with us all the time.

Okay here is everything youll need to know.
1. Digtal Format. Any dj can play any type of song format.
2. There is a mandatory training of how to run livestream.
I will update website.
There is a set sechedule but you can pick times as long as it is available but I only have 2 dj's atm so um there is now 5 positions left.

It is going to be audio only but you must have a webcamera.
Why is there a requirement for a webcam?

Why the long training. I've been webcasting be a shout cast icecast and you too for a long time now, It's really not that difficult?

Ps you answer the first question ask oh so disregard the question about the webcam

Kyle, Let's stop masking this as some professional endeavor. It's NOT a radio show. It's a live webcast.

Anyone can run Livestream, Justin.TV, Ustream, etc. Why would/should we want to broadcast under your name? Myself, Rob and a few other members here broadcast live all the time. It's for kicks and nothing more. Go ahead and start your webcast thing and feel free to come here and invite folks to log in.

***You don't need a webcam to use streaming sites. You can use free "virtual webcam" programs like ManyCam. You can broadcast images, a logo or your desktop.

Just FYI, broadcasting of copyrighted content on Livestream, Ustream Et al, is PROHIBITED by the TOS.

Some points and some questions.
One, I see Hank's point of it not actually being "radio" in the sense that it is not using radio waves... but it IS "radio" in the sense that he is broadcasting and has listeners. What do you call Satellite Radio? Or the digital HD Radio streams that are the same as webcasts. I personally think that it's radio if you are broadcasting to listeners, regardless of the medium.
That being said, Kyle I am also confused as to why any of these DJ's need you if you are just using Livestream?? Couldn't they just do that themselves? I thought you "owned" your own servers? I own two shoutcast servers, so I know what I am talking about. There is just no incentive I see to flying under your banner, when they can just do the same exact thing themselves.

Lastly, what if you have a public performance license? Is it still prohibited to mix live? You would think that they would just get an ASCAP license themselves, that way anyone can play anything on their site. Isn't that what Live365 did some years back? That's when they went to being a paid service though, I think.
Anyway, I am asking because of 3 things... one is obviously my new radio gig at Virtual DJ Radio. How do they make it legal? Second, I use Ustream when I want to stream my video mixing live, and am wondering about the TOS for sites like that, and how you CAN play your mixes live AND be legal.... Lastly, I use either Mixlr or my own shoutcast servers to broadcast live mixing sometimes... where does the line fall in terms of what I can play? Does it fall to my webhost to get "legal" when I use my shoutcast server? What about a service like Mixlr?

Why even say digital format? Just leave it at 'Any dj can play any type of song' - pretty sure that most people interested in spinning online would understand that you need digital media (or do you?) Is it possible to spin with vinyl turntables 'online'?
