Not pirated!! But Pirate music! I have been volunteered to provide some tunes for a pirate ship float for a4th of July parade. I have done it for the last few years and have mostly played a lot of calypso, reggae, & soca since the neighborhood has a high carribean population. Some of the peeps have asked that I add some more pirate style music (i.e. Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow Stuff). The stuff I am finding doesn't seem to fit the theme. Any suggestions for this theme?

Thanks Steve,

I did find a bunch of stuff similar to that but unfortunatley it does not have the same "feel" as the Pirates of The Carib movie. The second two links were very campy and the first link is rock or pop tunes with pirate theme lyrics, but again, not the style I am looking for.

You could always try Ray Stevens

I did a Pirate Themed birthday party a while back & used the following:

Captain Pugwash TV Theme [24secs]
Mike Oldfield - The sailors hornpipe [instrum]
Peter Pan - Yo ho a pirates life for me [instrum] + [vocal vers]
Pirates of the CARRIBEAN - Hes a pirate
Dogs Bollix - Drunken sailor
Split Enz - 6 months in a leaky boat

Various sound efx: sword fight, sea crashing waves, pirates voice [ah harr] etc

I played the 24sec Captain Pugwash instrumental every now & then over the course of the event.

A lot of Jimmy Buffet's Songs may apply.

Thanks for the tips... We were able to get someone to play the accordian on the float so that will help create the requested ambiance... I will have a few songs on hand for filler to give the musician a break!!
