Even you are focusing negatively Chucky...

What's up with the whole negative focus...?

What happened to positive focus, and making your business/talents shine above the rest -- raise the bar, so to speak (and you know I don't like that term)...?

Did positive die an untimely death? Have we sunk soo low as an industry, that all we can do is complain about our competition, instead of beating them at the game?

BTW, the DJ's that don't hang out on internet chat forums (about 80-90%), don't seem to have these issues -- wonder why...?

All I know is this guy has made a ton selling these. But no one seems to realize he is putting them on a DVD.

Why what matters? That he is making a ton selling them or no one realizes he is putting them on DVD?

I just was reading his feedback and he has some complain the DVDs wouldn't work in CD players.

As to making a ton, he is. 2 DVDs cost what, a buck plus shipping?

Piracy will never disappear, remember "If there is a will, there is a way". Digital formats have made it way too easy to do this. However how long ago did the p2p sites start? How many of you have been in the business before the technological advances came out? The answer is a lot of you and even though the playing field is not level you guys have bigger advantage which is experience and quality. Yes there are p2p DJ's today and they undercut everybody, but like I mentioned many times before, the horror stories from these events will drive them out of the business. And those who wanted to pay $200.0 for the DJ will find cheap DJ, they would never understand or pay the rates you guys have.

Education by their peers is what customers will listen to after some bad stories and they will then give your service the value it deserves. The world is not ending with the pirates they have been around for a very long time.

I think I misunderstood, Rick. I thought you meant they're doing tons of work... I would presume we're all in the same boat, regarding the economy, whether we post online or not.

I think that's somewhat regional Steve...

Some areas seem booked solid (seasonal/destination areas) -- many of the smaller towns are slow though...

Probably a zillion factors -- but I'd say most of my big city customers are not having any issues. NY, Detroit, Miami are rocking. Northern Michigan is great this time of year, along with the Jersey Shore, and Mass/RI.

The Med. is also hot this time of year -- 50+% of my customers are across one of the ponds...

Truly a shame that the Mobile Beat Collection wasn't legit. What a great set of CD's.
The music was not only the popular hits, but they were all re-mastered as well.
Anyone who has the original set knows that the Rolling Stones Satisfaction is not only a unique re-mix---it is the only one in existence where you can hear Keith Richards acoustic guitar on the chorus!

Back in the nineties ( when the set first came out) you could actually do an entire event with the Mobile Beat set. It had everything you could possibly need at the time.

The Mobile Beat Top 200 CD Set was produced by TM Century back around 1997 or so, if my memory serves correct. The first set of 12 came out, followed by volume 13 through 24.

You can view a complete track listing on (insert www.) scribd.com/doc/28992638/Mobile-Beat-Top-200

(I purposely did not post this as a link as it would take much time to load and I didn't want to infringe this board.)

This is a much sought after set, especially since it was pulled due to copyright infringements.

Never before was such a complete compilation of tunes ever put together.

A second such compilation, known as DJ Tools, was put out a short time later--it too was pulled.

The original Mobile Beat sets sold for approximately $100 per set of 12.
A terrific bargain at the time!

Today--the sets are sold on the black market for the same price!

yeah but what I cant work out since its now gone all you really need is a track listing and you can make your own!!

its easy when you have all the songs listed
if you dont then you go buy them

but whats the difference anyway...

I never noticed that before... The version I keep in the "play" library isn't this one. Any other mix differences in this set?
