I have pretty much parked the Fender Pasport 250 in favor of the 150 as the 150 has been able to cover every ceremony that I have done so far indoors or out! Ceremonies just don't require that much in sound level!

You can also use this. It has history, it has worked for many a ceremony and past Weddings and consumes no power, not even DC. The Brand is Columbia. LOL
This was on Display at my Jeweler. An Antique!

I use a behringer 802, shure lapel, behringer powered 15" cab, and a cd-mix 2.
add additional mics/stands (for readings, performances, etc) as needed. $150 for ceremony add-on for separate system. Just add $100 for an extra hr to reception price if Im running everything from behind my main rig with no additional system needed. |

Did Outdoor Ceremony yesterday w/ (1) RCF 200A (Active), (1) CDMixII. Audio for speaking parts not necessary so no mics. This speaker does a great job, excellent clarity and decent low (12").
I often use a pair of these with matching RCF 800A (15") subwoofers (Active).

I, too, forgot pricing. Ceremony at same location or distant $250, plus travel if not at same site. If same site and same room, knock off $50 ($200). If same site, but outdoors, flatt $250. By the way, the $250 includes 30 min Rehearsal day prior.
Thanks, Thunder. I've had the RCF system since 1999...no problems, knock on wood. Have plush thick valore canvass speaker covers for mains and subs. They still look like new.

I have owned and used the Mackie and Peavey actives and had problems with both out of six RCF actives 200's and 300's I have yet to have a single problem (atributable to the speakers themselves, I have had dirty power problems)

Our ceremony prices:
$400 onsite (when doing reception) $500 offside (when doing reception) About half our receptions book us for the ceremony and we'll be raising our prices for 2011. FYI - A solo violinist get about $300-$350 in our area without amplification. Check around... if you're doing more than 'just music' - your prices should be higher. As for what to use: I'm a fan of the Fender PD-250. I have the DC-DC convertor and battery pack to run it in places without power. I was using the Audio Technica 2000 series microphones, but ran into some issues with available frequencies (and I'm selling them off - have a lav and handheld still available!). I'm looking for replacements and leaning towards the 5000 series, but might opt for the 4000 or the new 3000 series depending on the specifics - but I'm looking at Line 6, EV, and a couple others as well. I'm looking for a wireless microphone that will be compatible with the narrow band requirements we'll be looking at in the next couple years instead of spending a fortune and having to buy again in the near future. |
