Pretty much my thought.

I'm a facilitator - i'm there to create the atmosphere for fun to happen and keep it going once it starts.

I'm not a stand up comedian or game show host or dance instructor - they didn't come to see me perform my schtick. I"m not the draw.

Auto mix is my friend..yeah, i know, "OMG!" Yeah, well I like technology and use it wherever I can. Lighting candles for dance lighting went out 150 years ago, carrying vinyl 30 years ago and even CDs are passe'.
Active speakers, laptop, controller, LED lights, DMX control, wifi - technology is in everything we do.

I use the dollar dance the chance to go to the bathroom. I have a dollar dance playlist, throw that on auto mix and go from there.

Yeah...saw him in concert this past weekend. He was absolutely hysterical!

I am only as interactive as the crowd allows.
First, you make a judgment call on whether they will go for it...
then you sneak in a few "tests" to see how they react to you (sometimes they laugh, sometimes, they aren't listening)
From there, I either go for it, or I tone it down.
I am not one for teaching dances (can't dance)
And, although I hate party games, I can have a great time with them if need be.
But again, it's up to the crowd

You play American Pie by Don McLean, any Meatloaf song, or my favorite is a Michael Jackson Megamix that is 11 minutes long and holds the crowd the whole time.
