Hey Jeff, nice to see that Matt Minglewood is still playing.
He just did a benefit concert a few weeks ago for the Fort McMurray residents devastated by the wildfires.
I've always loved his version of Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't You See".

Matt is a great guy I know him personally he lives about 10 miles from me we have been at many a party together back in the day lol.

He adds a great intro to Can't You See. He writes most of his own material but that is probably his most popular song. I worked with him a couple of years ago I was doing an event at the local base he came in and played a few songs for the boys I did sound for him. He sang this one that night among others...Strangely he didn't play Can't You See

If I was DJ'ing a classic rock night, I would use this as a starter to play with the audience a bit, saying that the promo ads were wrong and it should have read "classical", not classic rock, so I hope they can just relax and chill for the night.
For those that know the song, they know whats coming. It just kicks ass!

Jerry Doucette. He is from Montreal this is his one big hit.
I can't hear it but A lot of people mistake his voice for Billy Joel for some reason.

Matt was playing a free outdoor show at the local casino tonight. I dropped backstage after the show to see him for a minute. I didn't have mu phone with me so I didn't get any pics. It was the best I've heard him and the band sound in a long time. He did a few I haven't heard in a long time too but ended with Cant You See

He is releasing a new album in the fall a few covers and the rest original music

Many of you will recognize the songs but probably weren't aware they were Canadian, eh!

This is still one of the all time best songs to use as a segue from slow to fast!
And for those that didn't know, he also co-wrote the Archies "sugar sugar".

I actually forgot Lobo was Canadian...Thanks TJ. Andy Kim was also one of the session musicians that became The Archies

Canadian Icons The Tragically Hip are performing their last show ever tonight. It's going to be broadcast nationally in Canada on the CBC with hundreds of locations across the nation simulcasting it.

I believe it will be shown on the CBC website if any of our American friends want to take it in

Here's a couple of Hip songs
