For the money, these seem pretty nice. I'm renting each from a local DJ for 3 children's Christmas concerts starting tomorrow. The main shows on Thurs and Friday will be in a 500 seat auditorium from the 1920's. I'm not concentrating on a pretty setup, but working more toward a wow factor for the kids. The ceiling is my main lighting palette.
I'm concentrating on lighting, but simplicity as well.
We're doing all of the following songs in this Christmas Pack I shared a week ago.
Lighting will be:
2 Moving heads and a simple mirror ball for one big effect. Both are 250watt MSD 16 channel heads and I'm parking em on the floor right under the ball. Nice tight bright spot.
Wildfire 400W UV Flood (the real deal for black light)
Chauvet Bubble King with TeknoBubble fluid. Blue bubbles everywhere.
Under cutting the Bubble King with a fan, running it all from a dimmer pack. Really nice workaround if you don't have DMX gear is to use a dimmer pack. Just set all values to 100%!
Finally, the ceiling:
American DJ Decca Light
Chauvet Storm RGX (whatever the new one is)
Chauvet Eclipse (similiar to bliss light)
