I am sure this has been answered several times....but I kept getting dead ends on the search.......

Anyway....

I need some good conga and limbo song suggestions please. Any thing else in the 12-14 year old girl dance party range would be nice too....

I have the basics....Fergie...Pink....Crazy Frog.....Cha Cha Slide etc........

But I am always open to advice.....

OK, here's a bit of a stretch but how about,

Limbo Rock by Chubby Checker
or
Conga by The Miami Sound Machine

I know, I know, sometimes this stuff just comes to me. It's a gift.:sqwink:

For the limbo and Conga you could also use Hot, Hot, Hot by Buster Poindexter and his Banshees of Blue.

Another good one is Follow the Leader by the Soca Boys. Just make sure you have an edited version.

For regular dance music check out Radio Disney. Good clean stuff my 13 year old listens to. A big hit for these kids surprisingly is "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey.

Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy
Banana Boat Song (Day-Oh) - Harry Belefonte
The Tide is High - Blondie

I sometimes use the above for Limbo but only after playing Chubby Checker's Limbo Rock first.

Also...anything High School Musical, Camp Rock, Jonas Brothers and possibly Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus...Taylor Swift too.

For conga...C'mon N' Ride It (The Train) by the Quad City DJ's or Hot, Hot , Hot by Buster Pointdexter.

Ron's advice is good. Chubby Checker's Limbo Rock is probably the most recognized limbo song of all. There is an extended version available on one of his greatest hits CDs.

Believe it or not the version on Drew's Party Hits CD is the Chubby Checker version. At least thats where I got it from.

For the limbo do Flo Rida - Low
(good way to get it out of the way and also have the older folks groovin' to it.)

For the conga do Rihanna - Please Don't Stop The Music

Just like the bend and snap... works every time!

I really try to do what is unpredictable. there are so many songs and to use the same ones decade after decade is not what I want to look back on after this is all done and gone! same goes with any portion of any event.

At least try Shake Your Groove Thing - Peaches & Herb for the limbo
and Hot, Hot, Hot by Buster Poindexter for the conga.

Celia Cruz - La Vida Es Un Carnaval conga
Volcano - Jimmy Buffett conga
Nina Sky - Move Ya Body conga or limbo
Pitbull - I Know You Want Me conga
Dj Laz, Pitbull & Flo Rida - Move Shake & Drop conga or limbo
Prince - Kiss or Controversy limbo
Ashley Tisdale - He Said She Said limbo
Raven Symone - Double Dutch Bus conga or limbo

There are literally hundreds of great songs for these.

Seriously, for limbo you can play anything that is hot and has a smokin' groove. People will start to limbo to it immediately. Depending on the song, they will move and groove to the beat while they limbo are are in line. Play somethng that people in line can enjoy too.

Want an old one?
Try Harry Belefonte - Jump In The Line (Shake Senora)
from Beetlejuice

Yes! Exactly! I played this just the other night and its great for a conga line!

I'll 3rd the "Shake Senora" by Harry...

There are also a couple of limbo numbers that are on the one Bobby Morganstein CD series, FWIW.

Cheers,

Joe

No thanks for alphabet!

Tried to make a joke here and fouled it up - can't fix the subject line.

Listening to some of the stuff I don't play too often and came across Jump In Line - great song. Thought I ought to play that this Summer. Just don't look for Shake Senora or you won't find the Harry Belafonte version.
