WHAT? how could you possibly charge anybody while forcing them to listen to low quality mp3's:sqwink:

you should be paying them.

seriously though, to me, that would suggest that you really don't have a huge problem with mp3 quality, but just aren't' comfortable with computers enough to use them at a gig, which is ok.

Yeah, I deserve some of that....:sqwink:

Actually, I really do have a problem with MP3s. I just use these discs when I need an emergency quick start ( For instance, a venue problem which delayed my set up). These are kind " Generic Genre" tracks. I whip one in while I finish up detail work, if required... That's about it.

Believe it or not, I actually AM comfy with the laptop ( I use PCKJ/DJ Red- the original version) and actually enjoy playing with it. I'm just not comfortable using it in public venues for reasons already stated, and some non-audio/harware reasons as well. Maybe I should bring it to Rick's contest...:sqwink::sqlaugh:

1) Awwww... Why? Because I disagree with you?

2) I am just saying I do not equate the CD DJ's in this specific contest being fast than the PC DJs with using CDs being as fast or faster than using a PC. There are many other ways to interpret the contest. The most likely of which being that the PC DJ was of significantly less skill than the CD DJs.

Mike

1) No, because no matter how many times I clarify something, you come back with a non-sequitor

2) I agree completely, especially the last part....:sqlaugh::rofl::sqlaugh:

.... and to reiterate several clarifications of original statements, this was a contest between Karaoke Hosts - NOT DJs

This was a contest between Karaoke Hosts- NOT EQUIPMENT.

Another funny thing: PC vs. CD was a complete non-issue between the participants. To be blunt, no one gave a s**t what anyone else was using.

We were just having fun, and working fast. BTW- The GRAND SUPER DUPER FIRST PLACE PRIZE: A 5.oo carving of a one finger salute spray painted gold, and a 50.oo restaurant gift card. #2 got a 25.oo card, and I got zilch.....

We've established, several pages ago, that Joe prefers to handle his discs, and has amazing dexterity at it.
