Anyone from ODJT going?

I'm planning on going. It'll be my first DJ trade show. I hope they have lots of lights there. I need to build my light arsenal over the next few months in preparation for hitting the wedding market hard in 2010.

I just looked at the email again and I don't think there will be any lights and it's only from 6pm-10pm. QSC will be there so that should be interesting and there is one seminar I want to check out.

I didn't look at the email closely at first. It's the Pioneer/Mobile Beat Road Show. Not a full fledged expo/trade show. Just a few vendors and some seminars. I'm going anyways, I'm sure I'll see something interesting and learn something new.

That's too bad, we could have met finally. Some day . . .

Yeah, I went and I'm glad I did. I saw some lasers, got a chance to lift the QSC K sub to see if it's manageable for a semi-old man like myself and I got to hear the K Series 12" speakers outside of a music store which was useful-they sounded very good to me.

I was impressed with the mic that the speakers/presenters were using-EV RE2 wireless-supplied by our very own NLFXPRO. I think Shure mics are great, I own a couple, but the EV is very clear and crisp too and I think it would enhance my singing voice. People walked right in front of the speakers with ZERO feedback which I noticed right away.

I wasn't into the speakers, I just wasn't in the mood and I have a short attention span, but there was one person that I was VERY impressed with-Jake from Mobile Beat. Very talented speaker. I expect he will be very successful. He spoke very highly of Ben and NLFX, no surprise there.

I decided that I will for sure attend one of the large shows, probably MBLV. I plan on dropping a couple thousand on lights as I finally dive head first into the wedding business in the first or second quarter of 2010.

Someone said I look like Randy Bartlett and took my picture. Wherever I go someone thinks I look just like someone they know, it's funny. I really want to get the 1% Solution, I just don't want to spend $300. LOL

Believe me I appreciate the effort that went into that road show and I hope it was profitable and productive. To be honest I was keeping a low profile. I did talk to a couple of people, but mostly didn't socialize.

I am very much looking forward to going to one of the big shows, a couple of people said you come home on fire and based on other big trade shows I've been to I know that to be true. It's exciting, fun and motivating.
