New to the forum--interesting opinions... I may have missed it, but did anyone mention "Pour Some Sugar On Me"--it seems to get a lot of my bar and private club crowds going? I understand where you're all coming from regarding the weddings with mixed crowds and the song choices mentioned (and I agree), but I do a lot of bars with the 35-50 age bracket (my age) that try to avoid newer or hip-hop related music in general. I also do live sound, so I'm often paired with bands as fill between sets.

Michael Jackson (Way you Make me feel, Wanna be Startin somethin', Don't stop til you get enough)
Dynamite
Yeah

Cupid
Boom Boom Pow
Dynamite

Man, would you believe it, last Saturday night I had a floor starting to move, put on Dynamite and it CLEARED the floor. Never had that happen since that tune came out.

I like Brick House. Billie jean is a big one too. Yeah is also big. Party starters can change from show to show though. I think some of these 'sets' we're identifying should be under a new topic - like 3 best party songs or something like that.

Ladies Night with Bad mama jammer right behind it, september EWF, treat her like a lady/Temptations, I have done a beach/shag show, have a lot of the new and old beach music, hard core shaggers tend toward bluesy music.

houston...I've used all of those and they do work...for the right crowd. Lady In Red is one of my personal favorites. Wife and I like to dance and that one is supberb. California Love is a great song. I follow that up with Shoop! or Push It.
