Main Street Host SEO - yay/nay

Main Street called me about 1/2 hour ago!
Funny thing is, they also called me about a year ago. I actually fell for thier sales pitch. For an initial fee of $9.95 they would send me an evaluation report and a price quote for optimization.
I really was curious to know what was on the report, so I paid.
The 'report' I got was an .exe file.
When they contacted me to ask what I thought of the report, I said that I didn't get a report, just an .exe file. They explained that the report is multimedia, and an application works better than any othe file format. I explained that I coudn't use it since I work on a Mac.
Their response was "Nobody's perfect". I hung up.

He said over 25k of happy clients but would not offer a DJ or anyone for personal follow up.
$600 to setup and $100/month.
I said no. But he did give some nice info for my $9.
Having a 3rd party full control over my website makes me uncomfortable - at least when they wan to change copy and etc.

FYI: I'm not for or against Main Street hosting and have never used them but a quick Google of main street host turns up many unhappy customers.

When ever you cold called by a company Google the name and <company name> sucks to get reviews.

Funnily enough I got a call too - and played along.....
Then I asked if they could generate a sitemap in xml format and the guy said ".... a what?"
Then I let rip and was verbally threatened with a laugh suit for my torrent of really bad abuse....
It really does annoy me - I know how they generate these reports and it seems from TB that they haven't figured out how to do a report in pdf - also it's pretty useless anyway

Oh yeah watch out for the jokers that say they have a "special relationship with Google"
I have a Google adWords professional MCC (My Client Center) and I don't have a vip special relationship with Google - I know quite a lot of Googlers though
There are a few jocks here that know I can manage anyone's ads through Google adWords accounts directly through my Google Client Center - I have this and feel it is a privilege not a special thing.
Basically if anyone wants me to manage their Google adWords and have done THEY know the process is pretty strict and I don't get to see credit card #s etc
I hate scammers - I'm way, far from perfect but these bastard thieves really get on my nerves grrrrrrrrr

Ed having someone swap copy around can have dramatic results - I do a one off for DJs way cheaper than that as long as there is no drama and constant 'phone calls....

I only do a few DJs if they're willing to be proactive and listen to Uncle Davy
