I'm still getting messages on Myspace asking about the party from people who aren't on my friends list. I have a really good feeling about this one. :)

Your event looks like a blast. I was actually talking with a guy at work today about it. Everyone around here wants one now.

If you end up doing one, I highly recommend doing 80s trivia. Not only straight forward questions, but audio clips as well. I've got a boatload of soundbytes from 80s movies/TV shows.

Great site for movie & TV soundbytes:

Well, the place was packed!!!

Not too many people came in costume, which kind of sucked. My buddy won the contest. He was the drummer from Def Leppard. He had a Def Leppard T-shirt, acid washed jeans and a sweet mullet wig. He safety pinned his left sleeve shut and tucked his arm in. Of course he twirled a drumstick all night.

I'll put up a playlist later, but here are some of the songs that were sang for karaoke:

Songs I sang:
Jessie's Girl-Rick Springfield
We're Not Gonna Take It-Twisted Sister
Love Song-Tesla
Fight For Your Right-Beastie Boys

Other singers:
Purple Rain-Prince
Sister Christian-Night Ranger
I Remember You-Skid Row
18 & Life-Skid Row
Don't Close Your Eyes-Kix
Fantasy-Aldo Nova
Kiss Me Deadly-Lita Ford
Crazy Train-Ozzy
In The Still Of The Night-Whitesnake
Here I Go Again-Whitesnake
Once Bitten Twice Shy-Great White
Rock Me-Great White

There were more songs sang, but that's all I can remember off the top of my head. I have some video of the guy singing the Skid Row stuff. I'll put it on You Tube (frickin' unreal).

The 80's trivia went over great. I used a LOT of soundbytes for it and they really loved it.

I didn't get a chance to take too many pics, but I'll post what I have later.

Purple Rain-Prince

For those who may not remember, Prince is also the artist who is formerly known as The Artist Formerly Known As Prince (or that symbol).

Here's the playlist

Keep in mind that I had a bunch of Karaoke singers as well. Anytime there is a break in the list is when I did trivia. I had to play a newer set too just to keep everyone happy, but it was a great night!!!

WHAT!!! No Go-Go's? :) The first live concert I ever saw was the Go-Go's and The Police in 1982, so I always think of them for the 80's. Oh, and I notice Duran Duran MIA, too. Hmmm... I hope someone sang something from them during the night. I was such a New Wave gal back then.

Wow, I feel old suddenly. :D
