Keith,

Your posts have rocked! Thank you for this daily update. I'm sure I'm not the only one that was looking forward to your latest updates/pictures.

Congrats to the Mrs for the slots winnings!

Last year we dined at Wolfgang Puck's outdoor bistro @ the Venetian... AMAZING!!!! Granted we ordered the seafood appetizer that was delivered on a 3-tiered platter of crushed ice. Granted we didn't ask the price at first - but when we got the receipt, ok $55 - but hey, it's Vegas.

Oh, congrats on the VIP & deals with Ben. Definitely worth making the trip. I hope Ben gets to AC in August....wink wink... ;)

Cheers & have a safe flight home.

Joe

Joe,

As you know, Vegas is a fantasy world. I couldn't afford to live like this all the time.

I just ordered a pot of coffee, like I do every morning. I was starting this post and the gentleman from room service knocks on the door. He looks and sounds just like Morgan Freeman! He was very courteous, just like every other person on staff here at the hotel so far.

Judy's favorite place by has been the fashion show mall. I'm going to be in big trouble when the bills come in, they know her on a first name basis at some of the stores. :sqeek:

This will be my last round of posts before we drive out to the Grand Canyon this morning.

Here's some products that caught my eye at the exhibit hall;

Odyssey cases - Unless I have been asleep at the wheel, I never noticed their line of 'All Black' cases. The aluminum extrusion and hardware is black and looks pretty nice. Sorry about the qaulity of the picture, someone set off a fogger...

This ought to make Steve Lynch feel good about the awesome job he did with his photo booth.

Here's an offering from 'Open Air'.

I hope in all the whirlwind of activity this week, I haven't forgot to;

Acknowledge someone I met, or wanted to.

Pass infomation along that was requested in this thread.

I would guess most of the DJs have or are going to leave today. We will be at the Grand Canyon today and Saturday, then coming back to the Riv for our last day/night before we fly out Sunday morning.

Before I forget this,

Kevin, have a good wedding on Saturday and it was great to put a face with some posts. It should be no suprise, Kevin has many friends and had to juggle his time between a lot of people. I am even more inspired by his energy, attitude, knowledge and enthusiasm. I hope I have reciprocated in kind.

Kat, thanks don't seem adequate enough to express my appreciation to you. Ben has a gem working for him! I am honored to add you to my list of new friends this week. Your thoughtfulness and caring shows in many ways.

Heath and I click in a big way. Even though I'm a lot older than him, I enjoyed our talks out at the 'designated smoking area' and at the NLFX room.

JT my friend. I always hold dear what we discovered and shared at our first convention. This year was more of the same. I wish you continued success with your business, buddy.

Steve Sharp - You inspire me too. You're a natural entertainer that can be recognized in every day interactions. Thanks for your influence and sorry we didn't have more time to hang out and talk.

Michael from Bosch has a stamina and zest for life I wish I still had. Their company is doing some amazing things and you make representing all this technology look easy.

Travis has been busy behind the scenes juggling other projects while setting up and selling during the show. It's good to spend time with you again.

I almost felt like one of the NLFX team because I tried to help out anyone who wandered in while I was hanging out there & spending money...

Ben, you never cease to amaze me. He actually tried to apologize to me for not having time to visit. Ben taught classes, sold and was busy doing all sorts of behind the scenes tasks, non stop during the show. No apology necessary my friend!

I'll try to add to this list before we leave, but most likely have to get it done once we get back to Indiana.

Judy and I have a 5 hour drive out to the Canyon, so we gotta pack up for our side trip.

Thanks for reading!

Keith you recieve what you give and I think I certainly owe you at this point. The folks at NLFX are like family and Im proud to be as well. However you are in the smaller but fast growing Dynacord Family I hope to see your first gig reports with the new system. Enjoy the peaceful mountains I pray for a good time and good weather. Its a great way to slow the credit card bill for a few days lol.

Two more people I just thought of are:

David Beal - Another Canadian DJ who I met the first year and have managed to see at every convention since. David has a quiet confidence about him. I may have my first referral in David, as he expressed the desire to join us here. He will be an welcome addition!

Adrian "Snow Cone Guy" - Thanks for the pleasure of you company. Yet another DJ who I wished I had made more time for. I can't wait for your videos.

Heres a face with that name

Myself, Adrian and his lovely wife.

Mr. Larry Williams - Tyrone Blue.

Thanks for your dedication to the world of DMX. Your passion shines through in a big way. I know Ben & Chauvet appreciated your programming talents in the demo room. It was good to spend some quality time with you this year.

Hello Friends,

What an awesome week to in Vegas!!! As a first timer at Mobile Beat, I was very satisfied with everything. For any of you that have never been, GO! It really opens your eyes to the endless possibilities to better you business and skills. Also that there a tons of DJ's out there more successful than you so there is much to learn and soak in from the veterans out there and also for you newbie DJ's, you may know more than you think, b/c there are also a lot of clueless DJ's out there also. But that is why we come to DJ conventions, to learn and network.

If you're a lurker on the DJ message boards, step up and start posting today. Ask questions, give comments, post pics, videos, gig logs, your website, and definitely put a real picture of you on your avatar and your real name and where you are from.

I had only found this site a few months ago, but I have been posting on other boards also, and I was very happy to make the contacts here in the message boards and turn them into real life contacts at the convention. As a 1st timer, I didn't feel like a loner or a newbie b/c a lot of great DJ's knew who I was already from the internet and made me feel special. It didn't take long before I began seeing everyone from here and the other boards and striking up conversations like we've all met in real life before.

Thanks Keith for putting up the schedule in the excel format before the show. I printed some out and used them as my guide to what to attend and when everything started. I even had some other DJ's ask me where I got the schedule like that. It was a pleasure meeting you Keith and thanks for sitting with me in the first seminar so I didn't feel like a loser! Also thanks for posting all the pics of me and also my wife.

Oh yeah, for those that met my wife, Jennii (or Mrs. Cone) she had a good time meeting all of you and it made her happy that people knew who she was when she walked around.

I got to personally meet a lot of great DJ's that post here like Kevin Nichols, John Tuck, Steve Sharp, Tyrone Blue (sorry if I leave some people out, I just met so many people this week, a lot of the big wigs that gave seminars,a lot of the YouTube Superstar DJ's such as Brian Redd, Mikey Mike, Mike Flores, etc, and so many of the great vendors of the DJ community such as the great team at NLFX and Michael of EV/Dynacord and many others.........

I also met a lot of people that don't get on the message boards and told them that they should b/c that's how I have met a lot of people and learned so much even before going to my first convention.

I attended as many seminars as I could go to. I really liked the Jim Cerone, the Party Host, seminars as he convinced me to no longer DJ anymore. Instead, I HOST events and parties. I also enjoyed the "How To Keep Your Great DJ's" seminar my Mike Walter as it helped me a lot in my other shaved ice business as how to retain my employees and eliminate turnover.. The last night, my wife and I had an enjoyable dinner with some of the big wigs in the business such as Mike Walter, Andy Ebon, Mike Walter, Kevin Nichols, Marcello and others (sorry if I didn't mention you all, those mentioned were who were sitting directly around me). I also enjoyed the "High School Goldmine Seminar." I enjoyed the "Games Seminar" hosted by Sid Vanderpool. I went to the DMX after dark seminar and got play with the Chauvet LED Rain 56 lights and the Chauvet Min Spot all connected to a controller. Tyrone and Kevin Nichols and NLFX did a good job setting that up. I enjoyed it so much, I bought 12 Chauvet Rains for the $89 price. Woo Hoo!

The exhibit hall was awesome!!!! I've never seen so much gear before and coming from Okla, all of my experience with seeing gear was just in Guitar Center so I was very overwhelmed. Also since it was m first year, I thought it was great even if others comment that previous years were better. The NLFX rooms were very cool. The Huge Chauvet moving heads were impressive along with the new X series lights. Seeing the Bliss Lights in pictures on the internet give the real life viewing no justice. They are amazing lights. I also felt cool seeing all the EV gear on display and knowing I run mostly all the same gear.

My wife and I also got the Open Air Photo Booth, a DJ Screen, and a Bliss Light. I also bought one of the hand held bliss lights (the one in the pics earlier in the thread with the green dots).

So overall, it was an amazing week. Go to meet most of everyone I wanted to with the exception of a few, but there is always next year, which after this one, my wife and I probably will be coming back.

I did take some video and hopefully will be able to edit it all this weekend and get it posted by late Sunday.

It was a pleasure meeting everyone again and look forward to eventually meeting every DJ in the world that posts here and on other message boards!

Keith
Thank You so much for the kind words! I stand firm behind supporting those who stand behind and support us and you are one of the best! I am very happy to have met you this week and look forward to getting to know you and everyone here better. LOVE the Ben and the chicken picture...can you send it to me so I can hang it up at the office?? :sqwink:

Girl, you've got to be careful with some of these guys standing behind you. Keep them up front where you can watch them.:sqwink:

Next year, I'm going to do my best to make it. With my daughter's wedding in July and vacation in August I'm just tapped out. I don't care what rant certain people have about staying strong in this economy, it sucks this year.

Keith,
Thanks for the updates on the convention. It was almost like being there.:sqlaugh:

Keith, I must say that it was a pleasure meeting you and Judy, and our talks were great! I love to gush about Dynacords to people and am happy that you are now also a proud owner!

I apologize for a short post, but I had a LONG layover in Denver due to weather and JUST got home, that being after leaving Vegas at 3pm! :sqfrown: I shall start a thread later today (when I wake up!) of my experiences since I didn't bring my laptop along to the convention.......

Once again, thank you for the kind words, and it was a pleasure!
