Homecomings are just around the corner. Steve just hurt his foot this week, and we will likely be needing some assistance loading in/out at this fall's events.

This involves loading gear into the venue, perhaps helping stack speakers and assemble screens, and loading gear back out to the truck. Everything is either carted on 2 wheel handcart or is a box on wheels. You need to be able to physically handle 150 lbs on a cart or so, and push boxes (some are pretty heavy). You need to be able to walk with these loads for up to an hour loading in and another hour loading out. During the dance, you probably have nothing to do, but are welcome to stay. You can leave if you prefer, as long as you come back on time and sober. :) Pay will be $250/event...perhaps more if the demands are higher because of Steve's injury or the venue. Typically arrival time is early afternoon, and we're done loading out by 3am or so. Locations vary a little. If you're available, pm or post here....dates/locations below:

Sept 26 Chicago west side
Oct 3 Fond du Lac WI
Oct 9 Milwaukee area
Oct 10 Omaha west side
Oct 17 Chicago west side

I give first priority as follows:
1. roadie for us previously
2. experience on the road with bands or big systems & equip
3. in order of interest

Randy is one heck of a roadie... and not too shabby at FOH either. ;) If you still need help for those dates when they get closer let me know. I'll check my schedule. No need to pay me.... just buy the funnel cakes at PV. :)

Tell Steve I hope he gets better soon (he didn't do this just to get out of the pump car did he?)

For "ME", I would rather do a bubble party for $225. :sqwink:

But I guess if you want the experience, then it is cool. My body is beyond the time where I can work like that, though I used to.

Well, he says he wanted a vacation, but I think it was a pretty poor way to do it. 2 days in the hospital and a missing big toe was a bit extreme....

BUMP

Anyone in the Omaha area with interest/availability for the Oct 10th date? This one will pay a little better as we're really running that weekend and need good help. This is a great school; we've been there for twice a year for probably 6 years or more....shouldn't be many surprises. This is a school that sets their homecoming date according to when our schedule is available; the dance advisor has a lot of pull! It's our smallest homecoming so far with an enrollment of around 1600. Typically they pull almost 1600 to the homecoming dance.
 
How did I ever miss this thread? I will check on things for Oct 10th for you Val.....It might just possibly work out! That is, if I was good enough last time to have back! ;)

Love to have you back again!! (this one isn't by that steakhouse though :-( might have to schedule a sunday lunch at the Qwest Center) On a brighter note, there is no elevator involved this time!

You mean we don't have to worry about not pushing "THAT ONE BUTTON"? LOL When I check my schedule closer, I will get back to you! Where are we talking?? I mean I will need to find a hotel close by wherever it is......

Only 150 mi. and I could drop the wife off to see her brother and friends or vice versa she could drop me off... hopefully she'd remember to pick me up again... but, it may be doable. :sqbiggrin:

Currently I don't have a booking and the one inquiry doesn't look like it's going to turn into anything.
