So after listening to some folks here and doing a lot of thinking; I'm in the process of a big re-design; at least for me.

I took the new show out Saturday, at a small wedding...

First Impressions....I really like the look and for me, it works..

It took a little longer to set up....I've got a bit more work to do; custom lengthening cables and so on...

I'm debating canning (lol) the par cans in favour of a ADJ Mega Pixel or 2..I may keep the cans (they do work so well.....I like the ability to aim them as well....I'm really debating this one....

If I keep them, I think they come of and be mounted at the show, as on permanently makes it difficult to transport and set up (easier to hang the truss and mount the lights to it).

I also modified mt Rock and Roller cart to become a gig cart...All it means is no table to drag along. I may makes some further mods (power bar, input strips for ease of wet up)....

Lessons learned:

1) Hang all lights at the event
2) The pinspots neeed to be further away; I may look at a piece of pipe in the pole socket of the subs...this should pull the spots back enough to be really effective
3) The Tri Led spots...don't do white...although as they are; they can be part of the overall show. I will be buying a couple of the white ADJ pins spots from NLFX
4) I still love the Tri Phase...I used this most of the night with the cans and stand a lone....It's a great effect, especially in a small room with a small crowd (works good in a big room as well)....it's not overwhelming which I like...

Comments, thoughts, advice welcome and most appreciated....

I like it Steve!!! Can I ask you for a favor the next time you set up? When you take pics and if you have time could you take some of the arms that you use to mount the speakers with a close up. And the second question how much do the speakers weigh?

Thanks!!!

They are a Quick lok product

Mine are slightly different, in that they have 3 mounting holes; the 3rd is over the top and bottom...I use 2 O clamps to fasten it to the stand....

I did modify these by moving the pole mount in to just over the cross piece...at the end; the speakers were to far out and looked odd; this way they're tight. I had a welder cut and move them....

The tops are 28lbs....

My wife helps....

Explain busy/tight???

I'd like the top end to be cleaner with fewer lights and the (Disco Ball) StarBall would distract my line of view.

I'm a bigger guy and would probably trip on the stands behind the booth.:sqwink:

Maybe it's the room or the space you had to work with but a simpler setup would work better for me.

yah.... I did trip on the stands. You get used to it....For me it's always been about compact, which is funny coz I'm anything but compact

I'm on the fence about the cans...I may but a colour strip there; I think aesthetically it would look better....

It's not a Starball dude..It's the real McCoy...lol

I'm short enough that I see below it....I also have 2 LED starballs that I can use as well.

The groom actually commented on how nice and compact everything was....But hey...different strokes.....

Looking for a sub? (may be almost ready to part with it)

Thanks again..I appreciate all the input

Looks good, Steve. Maybe instead of putting the Pin Spots on the subs, couldn't you mount them at the ends of the truss? Then they would be aiming at the sides instead of the bottom.

Aha Steve nice tiny footprint and all self contained you can roll in and never as for anything but wheres the power source. Going to sell the RCF are ya. Yes indeed another Bosch family convert let your ELECTRO-VOICE Be heard!!!!!!

unless you're really attached to the old school ball
the LED starballs would probably take up less room, would eliminate the pinspots, and require less setup time

:sqfrown: I just bought the Mirror ball and Tri Led pinspots.....With a truss this was the perfect opportunity.. I have twwo LED starballs....I'll use them in very small rooms....
