Here's what I just sent out:

Folks:

Good Knight Entertainment is announcing our Winter Referral Bonus Program. Any former client (or future one for that matter) or other person that knows me, including all assistants, will receive a $50 WalMart Gift Card for any client referred, and booked for a future event, before the end of February, 2010. Email or message me for more details. The new client must complete our contract and place booking fee for their event and the person referring them will receive the gift card.

Please note that all Good Knight Entertainment does these days is weddings.

Regards,

Thomas Ohlendorf, President

It is worth a shot for me. I am just throwing this out for idea fodder for others here.

BTW, the bonus applies to my ODJT friends as well. Help me land me a new wedding in the time line specified and I'll be glad to send you the Walmart gift card. If you don't have a Walmart, we can deal on the card of choice.

My travel radius is 1 hour around 21009 based on Google Maps. I do give leeway on that for high traffic volume areas like DC, Northern Virginia, or Philadelphia.

There is no harm in asking. A satisfied client is one who will willingly send your referrals. Good luck with it.

I have never marketed my refural progam.

When people fill out my web questionaire they can insert a refurral name. If I book an event I send a $25 gift card to thank that person.

Cam, just for S&G's you might want to try marketing it. It might bring in some more business. You never know till you try.

That's an awesome idea Tom I think I'll be "borrowing" this one

:sqerr: Yeah! What? Jello on a stick? :sqlaugh:

do a great job
and you will get the referrals for free!

also, I'm sure all the details on being eligible for the gift card are necessary for legal reasons, but people might get the impression that it's too much work. "ask for details" might work better.

not saying that your idea is bad...
just "saying"...
