My dear old Crown amp of 28 years is starting to show signs of alzheimers. Crown no longer services or carry parts for the Micro Tech 1000. Looking at a QSC RMX1850HD, recommended by a long time sound guy in the Sac area.

Any thoughts?

I've got a QSC RMX 1450 that I've abused for over 5 years and have never had a problem. It's now relegated as a backup source...just in case.. :sqwink:

I prefer my 2 EV amps though.. :sqwink:

I think Precision Power loads QSC amps. Several of the folks here do.

Have read many good reports about QSC. :)

I have several QSC's from RMX's to PLX2's and love them.

QSC amps are a great choice. I have used them for many years.

I have a couple of QSC PLXs. Great amps but I still prefer my Yamaha P series amps

QSC for me, too!
got mine used and no problems!

yea, I used to have 3 racks of the PLX stuff and I'd beat on them all day long with no issues, even outside in 100 degree weather. Plus I could pick up and carry a rack with 8000 watts in it.

We run a QSC for our main amp. We love it...kind anice to know it runs cool at events outside in the middle of the summer in 90 degree temps and high humidity.

With the help of my friends here, I'll be pulling the trigger and getting the amp. I also found out that QSC is offering a rebate of up to $150.00, depending on the amp. With the amp I'm picking up, the rebate will be $60.00

Thanks guys!!!

Just don't let the rebates expire. They usually come in visa debit card with a quick expire date.

And then you REALLY need to read this:

You know those rebate cards you get sometimes, like when you buy a new cell phone, or maybe sign up for FIOS?

We signed up for FIOS and got a $150 rebate card.... We used it at WDW and then destroyed the card, and it turns out that this is what YOU NEED TO DO.

Why?

Because the story on the news was about a pastor who used all of his rebate, so he thought it was OK to leave the depleted card at the restaurant. But the real deal is that these cards can go into negative balances. Yep, in this case, the waitress "charged" another $300 on the card that the pastor thought was only good for $50. He was told that he owed the money. The TV station intervened and his charges were dropped, but I am sure this won't happen for most.

Apparently this is happening to many Verizon customers, as they give these cards out as promotions all the time. The story cited Citibank, and one other bank I can't remember as the primary "offenders".

So, here is your "heads up".
